I’m no expert but if it’s an associated entity it might be fine. The MA should know about this.
Thanks for your reply @Muppett & @Hex
Ok so to explain this a bit further... The MA advised lodging the nomination and the application with the old ABN acting as a trustee for the new ABN. I am not allowed to view the nomination documents as my company has a very strict policy; I just know that we had to supply financials for both companies and they requested further documentation last month. The immigration agent ensured me that, as long as the businesses are associated entities and are sharing the same management, the nomination ***should*** be ok. I'm just getting frustrated because a lot happened in my company in the last few years (change of ownership, management, ABN, trading name etc), and there is no transparency on that, so I worry that it will affect my application. I see that most nomination get approved within days, and without asking for extra documents...

Hi @furbibi I’m paid by an associated entity - which is also the people I work for- whilst the main business is my sponsor. My nomination for 186 visa has been approved. As long as it makes sense I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Thanks @Muppett So with my company... Basically the main business kept the ABN open but is no longer operating. All the business expenses and operations are going through the new business ABN. Sid you guys use an Immigration agency to apply? And do you remember how long it took to approve your nomination? Thanks

Hi guys, just a quick question... Is there anyone here who lodged the visa from an associated business entity due to company restructure? Any positive outcomes? Thanks

Hey guys. I have applied in March. Last week the immi called me asking for AFP and today, the business was asked to provide: updated Business Activity Statement of the last quarter as well as an Accountant Letter and the turnover expected for July 2019. Are those bad signs?

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I asked the agent and he confirmed that I can rent it for a short period of time while I am away. My worry is that, being on a 457 visa and only entitled to receive income from my sponsor, I will do something against the law.

Hi guys,
It's the first time I post here, so please let me know if my message landed in the wrong section.
I'm on a 457 visa and I rent my unit in Australia through an agency. I'm going to Europe in February for over a month, and I wanted to rent my place using Airbnb. It's not something that I would do frequently of course, but it will help me save some money. The earnings from the rent on Airbnb will be paid to my overseas bank account, not my Australian one.
My questions are:
- As a temporary resident, am I allowed to rent my place for a short-term period?
- Do I have to declare it to ATO?
Thanks:)
