Me too. Mine is lodged on 12 feb 2018 under accountants category and still not heard anything. This wait is killing me 🙁🙁

I lodged on the same day as you, when the AFP certificate was requested on 23rd November, I uploaded it within 20 minutes of receiving the notification, since then, radio silence. Ive got my fingers crossed for a grant for us both this month!

  2. Hope everyone has had a great new year!

Feel pretty low in all honesty, haven't heard anything since CO requested AFP Certificate on 23rd November, still sitting in Further Assessment. Hope it isn't lost in the Incomplete applications pile. Really wishing everyone gets good news soon to at least see some movement to perk me up!

  3. Hello all,

No update from me aside from the CO opening my file 23rd November asking for the AFP Certificate as my MA only uploaded the receipt. Still on Further Assessment.

I've completed and uploaded Form 80 as a preemptive measure today, hoping this could expedite things and hoping to get this done and dusted before EOY.

    Good luck everyone!

How long have you applied for it?

I applied for the PR application and nomination on 12th February together. The AFP Certificate was applied for on 2nd February with the Receipt which my MA said would suffice. The actual AFP Certificate arrived on 8th February which I sent to my MA the same day. My MA only submitted the Receipt on 12th February. My file was opened last Friday and the CO has asked for the Certificate...Pretty annoyed my MA didn't upload it when he received it on the 8th.. But this is the only thing the CO has asked for, so fingers crossed the CO finalizes and approves soon!

Hey guys, I got my PR grant last week but in the final few days my relationship with my manager has got so much worse, it was getting bad over the past few months and more so last few weeks. My question is if I was to resign and look for a new job would that affect my PR? I’ve been with them for over 3 years and I did think at the time of application that I would stay with them but it’s just become unbearable to work with my manager. Does anyone know of anyone where they have left so soon after being granted PR? Appreciate your help, and I’m very hopeful you will all receive your grant before Christmas!

Congrats on your grant! As far as I'm aware, as long as you have made an effort to stay at the Business, your PR won't be affected if you were to move on. Although as part of your PR application, you make the commitment to stay for 2 years, once granted, this isn't an actual binding Visa condition post grant of your PR. Bit of a grey area, but I believe the only way you can lose your PR is if it has been proven you attained PR using false or misleading statements or documents in the application. Hope this helps, I am mysel in Further Assessment stage of my PR application as of last Friday so hoping to have it finalised and approved before Christmas!

  6. This was my MA's fault.. He only uploaded the Receipt for the AFP as he said this would suffice. I even sent him the copy of the actual AFP Cert which was sent to me a few days after the Receipt but he never uploaded it.. Slightly annoyed about it, but this is the only thing the CO has asked for and it's been uploaded on the same day. No news on the Nomination either.  Fingers crosses a Golden Email comes through soon though.

Hello guys, can somebody help me with my query please.

Do we have to bound with our employer for 2 years after getting 186 visa? Because i think its a PR visa, so is there any condition to this?

And another question is, that is there requirement of 3 years experience in the same field, before applying for 186 Direct Entry Nomination/ Visa?

    Thanks

    Hi Hisham,

You are not legally bound, however as mentioned in KazBaker’s post previously, you must make an attempt to try and stay with your employer, but if it is irreconcilable ie the Emoyer Business has shutdown, or a disagreement that leads to cessation of your work contract, then you are not in breach of your PR Visa.

And the 3 year Experience, I will presume is under a transitional 457 Visa? If so, this is actually 2 years if you were on the 457 Visa previous to 17th June I think, when the Department of Home Affairs created Grandfathering arrangements for those on a 457 before this Visa had been archived.

Wishing you the best of luck.

  8. Hi all,

Silent reader here so far. I applied for my 186 Nomination only by myself in July 2017.

This got refused in January 2018. The CO cited lack of evidence/statement to suggest my role was going to available for me for 2 years and also lack of evidence to meet Training Benchmarks. The CO had also referred to a completely different company in his final statement at the end of the Decision Explanation.. Given the obvious lack of proofreading and not given the chance to resubmit any documents, I considered appealing but was advised by Work to work with out MA to resubmit a new Nomination and Application as they believed this had a better chance of success.

I then used our work MA to resubmit both the Nomination and Application on 12th Feb 2018 with the issues raised in the refusal notice rectified. All Medicals, Police Certificates, and Compulsory Docs were uploaded on the day.

I have been here for nearly 5 years and I'm hoping we/I can be released from our compulsory work Obligation and be free to do anything in this great country given everything we have given to be part of it. Fingers crossed everyone has a good result!
