Good morning. Was your application in further assessment status since November last year, and only AFP was requested at that time?

Do you know if and when your nomination was approved?

Yes my Application has been in further assessment since November and they only requested the AFP then. As far as I'm aware, the nomination is still in assessment stage and I've had no update on the nomination being approved. I think this latest request is on the nomination side as my application is still the same as it has been.

  2. Hi all,

I got this email from my MA -

''We have received a request from the Department of Home Affairs to provide payslips, Pay summaries & statements from Company Name about your employment. I have all of the above and will supply again to the Department tomorrow.

Some information is requested from Company Name and i will liaise with your General Manager for this. I do not forsee any issues and i will update you in the next 24 - 48 hours. ''

I have already supplied this information in October last year to try and preempt a request for this. Application still the same status and the last updated date is still the same, I'm thinking that this was a request from the Nomination side of things as all is the same on my Application
  3. I gave the DHA a call today, she explained that although she doesn't have visibility on specific CO actions, she said that since i last called (last month) the CO has actioned the application, she couldn't tell me specifics but said there was activity on my application this month from the CO. Hoping, praying that this is sorted soon.

Again, I did not complain in any way. Jus checked the forum this morning and saw someone posting about his nomination and Visa approval applying on the same day as mine. Checked the spreadsheet yesterday and only 2 persons from this forum didn't get theirs granted from Feb 2019. Just assumed this morning that I was the last one from this forum not having it granted from Feb 2019. I've been here for the last 10 years ( 5 years on student Visa, 2 years graduate and 3 years 457). I got my 457 approved in 2 months 3 years ago and it took almost the same time to get my whv. So I know it isn't fair that some visas get approved faster and some not but it's just how it is. Anyway, I got frustrated too when I saw I was the last one from Feb. It would be the same for anyone else being the last in the spreadsheet I guess 😉

I understand, but the spreadsheet is only a needle in a haystack, there are tens of thousands at least probably more globally that aren't on the spreadsheet.

Hey guys anyone has any idea why people that have applied early this year already received the pr?we applied this February 2019 with all the documents/police check and medical but we didn’t received anything yet

why other people that don’t have a decision ready application received the visa so fast and some people need to wait years?

Think this goes to the update in the Training Benchmark requirements being changed in March 2018. The theory is that applications sent after this date are processed more quickly as a payment to the Skilling Australians Fund (SAF) is only required as opposed to the previous requirement of a certain percentage of company expenditure being spent on Training

i can totally feel you,i  am in the exactly same situation, my coworkers applied half year later than me,they all got granted already,  i am the only one left with waiting for more than one year. but i have notice something , all my coworkers got granted faster than me are single,  only i applied in couple, what about your  colleague? maybe they need more time to consider couples?

He is a single applicant as well. I think it would make sense that more time would be required to look at a couples application than a single one. But still, I share your frustration with co-workers applying after you and being granted before you, just no sense or predictable results with this process.

And I find yours at least as useless as mine 🤣

I think a little bit of empathy for those that are waiting outside of the advertised processing time-frames is what she meant. You say you've been waiting over 10 years for PR yet you have said you applied in February this year. People have applied a lot longer before you, some even as far back as 2017. You are well inside the processing time frames to it's a little bit annoying to see complaints from people who applied so recently.

    Has your nomination been approved?

I don’t think it’s common to wait for so long after nomination approval.

Do you know if there’s any reason behind that?

No, Nomination hasn't been approved yet.

There isn't any complexity to my case, medical is all good, police/character is all good, I have worked in the same role in the same company for over 5 years as per Visa requirements and I have met all TRT eligibility for the 186

Our Company was audited earlier in the year, and our GM got a call from immigration late March to say we have passed the audit and that processing will now continue.

About 1 month ago, my colleague who actually applied later than I did , and applied through virtually identical circumstances, same occupation, even shorter amount of time in Australia than me, same country, got his Visa and Nomination approved simultaniously.

It's incredibly frustrating for that to happen, it felt encouraging when his PR was approved in the first week, but a month later and month 15 since I applied, it really feels like they have just forgotten my visa application.

  9. Some news on my front. So there is another guy who has applied for the 186 in identical circumstances, same company, same job, same MA, same TRT grandfathering circumstances, same country, he actually applied 1 week after I did on the 19th Feb, same further assessment status receiving the s56 notice as me requesting the AFP at the same time as me,

He got a request from IMMI last week to renew medicals, he said they contacted him again while he was literally in the waiting room in the BUPA centre to say they messed up his HAP ID but to do the medical anyway, this was last Thursday and yesterday morning he received his grant. Congrats to him! Not jealous at all..😐

Just really wondering where this leaves me, I still have no update since November as per my signature, Just wish I could preempt the Medical and renew it myself 😞 could I be imminently next??

  10. I haven't received an email regarding assignment of a CO soon. My opinion is that the email was dispatched to a certain date range of applications and maybe some filters applied that sends it to applications under cetain conditions.

Still no news in any case on my front. It's my birthday today so I might call IMMI and ask for the best birthday present ever 😄 😄

    Good evening all

I'm just wondering what experience fellow pommies have had with UK Police Check Certificates and turn around times? We’ve paid for the premium (2 working day) service but wondered how quickly they arrive by international courier.

    Keen to hear experiences here.

    Thanks

    Laura

Not long at all, if you ordered via the Premium option earlier this week, should be with you by Friday or the latest Monday

  12. Hi everyone, an update for me, not quite a silver or golden email but close enough,

Turns out there was an audit on our company as I am one of 3 people applying for the 186 and a bunch of other 457/TSS applicants, I believe this audit started around 2 months ago.

We had a call from IMMI today saying they have completed the audit and they are satisfied and will now start processing visa applications.

Fingers crossed the silver and golden emails come soon!

This isn't true, you do have options if your Nomination/Application is refused. You will be on a Bridging visa until a decision is made, if you are refused, you have 30 days to either lodge an appeal which would then revert you back to your bridging visa until a decision is made on your appeal with the AAT, or you can apply for a different visa, or reapply again. Point is, your not going to be instantly deported if your application is refused and you have time to decide what to do if so.

Hey all, been following this for a while now, been 13 months on the dot since lodged my nom and visa, my current 457 is due to expire in 4 weeks and I have been told by MA that on a bridging visa, if my nomination is refused for whatever reason I have next to no options (although have been saving up to lodge another visa if required) my immigration agent has advised I lodged a new temp work visa now 482 is it?  As a sort of insurance, which I'm prepared to do but I'm worried it will effect my 186 lodged, any one got any advice?

Seriously loosing sleep over this! My company is small with only 12 employees so I'm assuming this could mean Ive a long way to go yet 😞

I suppose my post above just illustrates that receiving a nomination refusal does not mean your only option is the AAT.

However, I do believe it is rare to get an overturn like I did. God must have been looking down on me....

Would you be able to share any details on the reason(s) for Nomination refusal in the first instance?

  16. 1 minute ago, boo-yaa said:

Some more details on my case.

My Nomination was refused 2 weeks ago. I spoke to my MA who immediately informed we need to act quickly and have two possible options.

    1. MA would contact the department to ask them to vacate the decision to refuse my nomination - on the basis that the correct legislation wasn't followed. No guarantee this would be successful.
    2. If above wasn't successful we would need to appeal to the AAT within 21 days. MA advised I had a strong case for this, unfortunately it would just be a long wait.

Luckily my MA was able to get the department to review the decision and this week I received nomination approval and visa grant together.

Now I'm still in shock - as I didn't actually believe that option 1 would be possible. I'm so grateful to my MA and would encourage everyone to use a reputable agent where possible. If I had applied myself I don't believe I would have had the same positive outcome. My MA is a large worldwide company - so that must have helped.

I'm not going to go into the reason why my nomination was refused in the first place as that's my personal choice. I hope you all understand that.

Looks like you all haven't got rid of me after all 🙂

OMG the Phoenix rises from the ashes!! Congratulations!!!! Stoked for you!

    Hi Schryised

From  my experience i took 28 days until a decision was finalised from Further assessment. that is the same amount of time given in the letter for additional documents. (my signature has my timelines) But from this forum i can assume an average of 28 days to 35 days before a CO can get back to your file. But then again some in this forum have waited longer than that.

just be patient for now. a CO has been assigned to your case and it shouldn't be long now 🙂

    Good luck!

Day 106 in Further Assessment for me...

Sad news this morning - my nomination was refused 😟

I'm awaiting a meeting with my MA to find out the reason why - once I know I will share it on here.

My application was more complicated than most and I sort of had this in the back of my mind this could happen but hey life goes on. I wasn't actually as upset as I thought I would have been.

Still currently on my 457 so no need to make any urgent decisions at the moment however at first thought - I don't think I will appeal. I see it can take another 12-18 months for your appeal to be heard and to be honest I don't think I can put our life on hold for that amount of time again. My wife wants to start a family and I don't feel comfortable doing that whilst sitting on a bridging visa awaiting the possible outcome - no matter how strong my case may be.

So it looks like my journey in Australia has come to an end - I have so many great memories here and I wouldn't change them for the world. I believe in life, things that are meant to be are meant to be and I guess its just our destiny to be back home. Although they wont say it, both my Wife and my parents will be over the moon I bet - they really struggled with the thought of us having a family out here alone.

Good luck to everyone on here - the forum has helped me through the process and its an awesome community that you all should be proud of.

I probably will take a step back from the forum now and I doubt I will post much more - just need to start planning the move back to the UK. My company has offices back home so I'm currently looking into an internal transfer.

    Farewell and God Bless 🍀

Really sorry to hear this. Good luck with your next move, I'm sure everything will be on the up for you from now and at least you now have closure on this and you can now move forward. All the best

    Hi All,

    Hope all well.

My low risk 186 TRT application was applied for on the 28th Feb 2018 using an immigration lawyer. I know the wait is long so I'm hanging in there. My agent requested more docs from my employer and payslips from myself, however I haven't heard anything since.

I checked my immi portal and didn't see any messages to my agent requesting these details.. should I see anything in the "messages" section? It's been over a month since I sent the docs. I've even requested more police checks due to the expiry, I've emailed my agent the last 3 days with no reply, I'm getting very annoyed with the lack of response. Has anyone experienced this before?

Am I entitled to request all comms between my agent and the immigration department?

    Many Thanks

I'm going through a very similar experience. I have also renewed Police checks, I've asked my MA to follow up with IMMI on the 1 year anniversaru but he hasn't replied either, I too am equally annoyed by the lack of response. As far as I know, when IMMI request information, you will receive a s56 which should be visible in your messages section of your application, unsure of what it looks like on the Nomination/MA side of it. Will keep an eye on this question. Thanks
