  1. oh dear oh dear, i do believe you are correct! it would appear that i am quite unable to get 90 points as a result of having worked in australia for basically two years... damn. TSS (if it still exists, or something similar) likely my best bet when the borders reopen. best keep plugging away until then i guess! thanks for pointing it out
  2. Hi Paul - thanks for getting back to me. Yes that's what I initially thought but when I've added up the days, even the months rounding down, I still get to over eight years - did you add up the dates differently? And as I said in my previous post, I added ten (10) years to one of them (the first job, changed the starting year to 2001) just to see what would happen - still on 85 points though! It's all very puzzling. James
  3. Hi Paul - Thanks for getting back to me. I also wondered about the employment points. I made sure my time in Australia had the correct country selected for that 5pts (1 to 3 years relevant experience in Australia). I experimented with the other dates, adding ten years to one of them just to see if I was somehow not quite getting the >8 years. It still gave me 85 points! I'm 35 (25pts), single/no partner (10pts), got a masters degree (15 pts)... 'Superior' English (20pts)... >8 years' foreign work experience (15 pts), >1 year Australian work experience (5pts). 5 points has gone missing along the way it seems!
  4. Hi there all - I lost my job in Australia last year on a 457 visa and had to leave the country after recruitment of foreign nationals in my industry basically stopped . I'm trying to apply for a 189 visa and per the official government points calculator I should have 90 points (see bottom image ). But, when I get to the 'submit' page on Skillselect, it only shows 85 (top image). I can't think why this might be the case - any ideas please? Your input would be greatly appreciated James Apologies for size of images:
  5. Actually - I've just requested a formal output of all my National Insurance contributions, so hopefully that will come within 15 days. (https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/forms/form/Statement-of-NICs/start)
  6. Hi - Engineers Australia require 'Secondary Documents' "2. SECONDARY DOCUMENTS  Income Tax Return Acknowledgement or Receipt; and/or  Social Security Insurance/ Superfund/ Provident Fund/ Retirement Contribution Statement Reports." How did other applicants from the UK provide this? I've submitted a Subject Access Request (SAR) from HMRC but it's been just over 28 days since I submitted. This should show income tax contributions for the past 8/9 years I hope. I've got a printout of my National Insurance (Social Security Insurance?) contributions attached below, but it's not particularly formal despite coming from the Gov.uk website. Did anyone use this / would it be successful if used? Thanks in advance, James
