Luv reading your posts
I think you’d find the good and the enjoyable wherever you where .
sometimes it’s just attitude , looking out the good in a place , ty it’s wonderful to read . Living on your own , I have a dog , good company travels with me an never argues

My only advise is ensure u still do the things u enjoyed when holidaying !
make that time , save , see what the country has and is .
To often we become bogged down with everyday life , look back at what we had instead of forward to what can be .
Any country has much to offer , make the effort to enjoy it .
The best of luck to you and btw good choice Adelaide is a beautiful place with much around it to explore .

Home is where it suits at the time . The last couple of years I’ve had itchy feet , gone back to Europe back here . Covid has kept me here . I’ve made a home , doing all the things I did there . It’s making a niche for yourself enjoying where you are . Look for all the good in a place , enjoy it , no where has to be forever but good memories and good times so much nicer to look back on than discontent , it’s all in your attitude .

Just a further thought , some have said Australia is boreing . But how many live in the cities in uk ? suburbia the choice of many . The cities here offer a vibrant life style . Brisbane with its day and nite markets , eat street foods from all over the world , excellent transport the citie cats up and down the river , Southbank, swimming in the city , shopping in queen st buy a Rolex watch to a fridge magnet at the cheap shop .we have china town , restaurants , clubs and pubs , museums art gallery’s , it’s all out there same as any place you have to go and find it , it won’t come to you, an the people are multicultural here same as most cities , join a club get to no them ,friends have to be found say the first hello .

Life is what u make it were ever u live . I been here over 30 years , visited or lived in all the states . Queensland my favourite, been lucky to live in some beautiful places , had some health issues an can say Medicare is wonderful , been homeless livving in my car an can say in Queensland it was easy , the weather the support available like food banks , free cooking on beach bbq’s , amenities all made this part of my life easier .
We never no what life has in store for us . I say do it we only have now do wat makes u happy give it a go , if u don’t settle there’s a hole world out there I been lucky seen most of it but I think I’ll call Australia home . Good luck to you and yours .

Life in a family unit is always a compromise . The hopes dreams of all not always the same .if your the one to compromise your dreams , do so with a happy heart look for how you can enjoy the option , to not do so often leads to discontent and resentment, .We don’t always get what we want in life ,it’s being strong enough to accept and throw ourselves wholeheartedly into what suits the situation that will help bring happiness . The most important in life is your family unit and the happiness of all , best of luck wherever you bide .

Was a long time ago and is about packing boxes
make sure you take all the batteries out of children’s toys , even thos tiny ones
one night I came down stairs and made a cup or tea , as I passed the box a little voice was singing
one less cup to pack , was a a toy of the children’s , why it went off I don’t know , but continued all night
getting creepier as the battery wore out .

Have you looked at Bribie Island ?
Sandstone point , both with plenty of recreational choices
The new sandstone point hotel is worth a visit and often hosts music and other activities

You have to live differently depending on which country
As has been mentioned prepackaged foods in Australia are expensive , buying fresh from markets is cheap
utilities ( qld) are expensive more homes changing to solar power if they don’t have .
rents relative to area , live further out of city , public transport is relatively good if you ensure you can acess it . I find private landlords sometimes cheaper and more negotiable,
i have lived with and without much money in both places , and would say it’s easier in Australia to live with less , just my experiences.

Been lots of threads like this over the years
and everyone is unique in their own way
we change , age , what suits now may not in 10/20 years time
children , parents affect our decisions
once you move from your birth/home place
life is an adventure , the future always unpredictable
the best way I’ve found , from constantly moving , country to country
is to do and enjoy what suits you and your family’ unit for now
don’t burn bridges , keep an open mind
life’s too short to not appreciate where you are now
sure plan your future , persue your goals , but once you’ve stepped off a familiar path
life has a way of often surprising us , don’t understamate family pull .

Does nobody own a small car in Perth?

I presume u mean 4x4 ‘s . ?
very popular here often due to long distances driven and the ability to get out on less used roads and remote places .
many have side steps to help u get up or use a milk crate !
