Hi , I called the High Commission in Pakistan and talked with them after a long wait of 45 min. I asked them about the delays and varying processing times. The answer i got that application has to go through mandatory checks and the local government agencies like Nadra and Union Councils cause delay. Also that we have a timeline to follow and grant visa according to that. So Basically its all "BS" they dont have any concrete answer for delays nor do they care what happens to people because of the delay and how badly it affects there relationships.

Basically its all quota based i read somewhere on SBS hindi that there is a ceiling of 44500 spouse visa for a year and people from all over the world are applying so you can understand whats going on....

I am guessing your wife hasn't received any calls from the High Commission yet? Looks like everyone from December has been processed so January calls and grants should be coming soon (hopefully!)

Is there anyone from December here who is still waiting on a grant/interview call?

Mate, the case is not complicated. It is as simple as i have a child and wife. I emailed them many times. C O said in last email the application can not be processed unless all checks are completed. What checks is this application undergoing. Can you suggest what should i do?

Did you add your child later in the application? From what I have heard that can delay the processing.

Someone told me you can ask for case notes on applications that are delayed but I have never been able to find anything in relation to that online. Maybe send them an email requesting something similar given you are well above the average processing timeline.

Unfortunately it’s one of those things where you can’t do much.

I feel for you man. It’s a horrible wait.

My changed to further assessment couple of months back, i did contact embassy yesterday and they gave the same response of 13-17 months. I dont know what they are thinking they want continuing relationship but the way they are delaying stuff its like they want relationships to break :$

As in the Sponsor Application status? Is that the same time you got the email from them?

I know, its such a frustrating wait. I applied about 2 weeks after you and it has been complete silence for us from the date we lodged.

but have you got the case officer or any other correspondence so far? let alone acknowledgement/generic email?

We applied in jan 18 and are waiting for some form of correspondence.

Applied through the online immi account.

Can I check, did your sponsor application status ever change from “submitted”?

My wife’s application says “further assessment” but my sponsorship still shows the status as “submitted”

I can understand what you are going through this wait is atrocious. I applied in Jan 2018 got generic email in August. You should get something too this month or may be next. I dont know seems like nothing much is happening in the embassy in September. May be its Muharram who knows ?

Haha, perhaps it is Muharram thats delaying it. Fingers crossed you get a call by October and so do we!

Hey. I also applied for my wife from Islamabad. My timeline is almost identical to yours.

    Applied: 17 Dec 2017

    Email received: 18 Jul 2018

No call received yet as well. I will update if I do. Please update if you as well.

Your 9 months have just concluded. I hope your wife gets a call today so that we can get some indication around if its still taking approximately 9 months in processing applications from Pakistan. Please keep us posted if you get a call!

When you received that email on 18 July, did it also show up on the immi account?

    hello everyone!

I'm new to this forum. I just wanted to ask that when i lodged in my visa request for 309, the processing time mentioned on the website was 9-12 months. Few days back i checked it was changed to 12-16 months and now again i re checked the time frame mentioned is 21-26 months. This is stressful. Are there any cases in your circle where people who applied after Nov 2017 have received their visa?

Hi Amna, where did you apply from? Have you received the generic email requesting the completion of documents for your application yet?

The last grant I saw here was from October 17 fo if you applied sometime in Nov17 then hopefully you are not far off from bring approved

I applied for Spouse Visa in Jan 2018 from Islamabad. The CO contacted me on 8th August for submission of all documents. I had already submitted everything at time of lodgement. The CO asked to submit last 3 month communication and financial support incase all docs had been submitted already. How close am i to receive a decision?

I applied in Jan as well. What’s your exact date of lodgement?

If I was you I would expect an interview closer to September end.
