  1. Thank you very much for the information provided by all of you. I just received the grant notification from NSW processing centre.

To conclude a little observation with some visa applicants, the nomination company turnover, the skill level of occupation, the English competence and the comprehensiveness of submitted docs really matter to the progress and the priority. Best wishes.

He asked visa refusal after nomination approval. So its not the same thing as visa refusal after failed nomination. The information is for people who have been waiting for visa after nomination approval .The purpose of this forum is to share important information and NOT to vent our frustrations.

Hi mate, do you know which processing centre issued the request for further information letter? Mine is from NSW PSE.

I know 1 case where visa was rejected after nominations. That family was from UK.
Actual reason is not told. But nominations were approved successfully.

    Hi Guys,

Have been following this forum for a while and sometimes it helps to read some good news when the wait is so ridiculously long.

My case is a bit weird, i was wondering if anyone has a similar case or has heard of anything similar?

    State: WA

    Position: Jewellery designer

    RCB approved: 6 Nov 2016

    Nomination approved: 4 July 2017

    Visa applied: 1 Mar 2017

Application opened: 4 July 2017 (note this is the same day taht my nomination was approved, so very peculiar)- my MA and I were pleasantly surprised by the application being opened so quickly.  They requested for some reference letters from my previous employers which we provided by 11th July 2017.

And that was it!! - I have been waiting for correspondence ever since.

My employer contacted Immi by phone in May 2018 and we were only told "it is being looked at" and the guy wouldn't say another word.

You can imagine my level of frustration.

Please share you thoughts and experiences.

Has any one in WA heard from immi recently?

    Thank you guys.

    The nomination approval letter says:

This nomination approval ceases on the earliest of the following:
    ● the day on which Immigration receives notification, in writing, of the withdrawal of the
    nomination by the sponsoring entity;
    ● 6 months after the day on which the nomination is approved.

Did your MA say anything about the above clause?

Thanks for reply! I have already received the letter, just finding place to do fingerprint ^^

Go to NSW police online service to book the fingerprints service and go to the local police station (I recommend you going to the CBD ones). Please mention you're doing the service for HK CNCC.

Hong Kong. I just got the request letter from Immi.

    Character and Police Certificate Requirements

As per the Department’s website (Character and Police certificate requirements), some countries such as Singapore, Japan, The Netherlands, Fiji, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, or Hong Kong, require a letter from the Department first in order to provide a penal check (‘penal check letter’). If you wish to ‘front end load’ the penal check process to reduce processing delays you may wish to obtain a penal check letter before you lodged your visa application or prior to receiving a request for further information from the Department.

For such requests you can email the bio-data page of your passport to nsw.pse@homeaffairs.gov.au and include the words “Penal Check Letter” in the subject line of your email.

Hi Gary, Did they open you visa file same day? When did you complete your medicals and when was your nomination and visa lodged. Timeline please.

I lodged both applications late Feb 2018. RCB was approved in Mar. I just completed the medical exams early November when I got the nomination approval.

Has anyone had nomination approved without request for more documents even when medicals and pcc are expired (about 18 months). Its more than 4 weeks since my nomination approval and no news or request for docs.

Nomination approved on 26 Oct. Visa application was opened and only APF clearance was requested.

All documents were submitted on 26 November. No news yet.

12 weeks seems like way too long.

Check what’s written on their website/application document. On ours (for our region in NSW) it said applications are processed within 4 weeks. They did request further paperwork but within this framework. We had response at 3.5 weeks.

My case is in Victoria which Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources is the RCB which does not state the processing time on their website. Other Victorian RCBs such as Geelong advises that Requests for Assessments are currently taking at least 8 weeks to reach processing.
