it must be very difficult waiting i pray that you get your visa grant soon. Are you a Australian permeant resident or citizen? I have heard that if you are permeant resident there can sometimes be delays in your visa.

Thank you for your concern and yes I'm an permanent residence....if that so I'll keep waiting but I'm already exhausted I'll pray for you too and everyone who's waiting on this difficult time

Hi everyone , i’ve talked about my husband’s application here before but i’ll mention again the DOL is July 2017. further documents provided in april 2018. since then nothing. I have called to their formal complaint line in April to which i got the same response as “checks are being completed” My husband has tried asking for priority processing regarding my health providing my psychologist letter and everything but that didn’t got any satisfactory recognition either we were told applications are not prioritised but dealt with according to date of lodgement however i know people from 2018,2019 have gotten their visas and we’re waiting since 2017!!!

Since it’s now almost been 25 months, I was thinking I should make another formal complaint this time write it to the department website? Has anyone got any ideas about this process, does it help in speeding up the process? i’m concerned it might backfire since i’ve heard department secretly puts those people on hold who complain often. but at the same time, it’s our right to complain if the processing time has blown out. Im so confused we’re honestly running out of patience now.

Same case as me I waited since 12 June 2017and it has passed 26 months now I'm still waiting I been writing to ask for update they say the same thing all the time but I'm sick of writing I just sit back and waited now and it has blown my mind now because they don't feel sorry that we have 4 children under 7 and I've been doing both mother and fathers responsibility since they were all born

Is there any complication in ur application or it's straight forward? This is so unethical keeping children away from their father. My lawyer told me having child makes application stronger how could they do so in ur case ☹️☹️☹️

I hope ur husband gets it soon ameen everyone else too ❤️

Yes it probably because my husband overstayed his visa in Australia 6 years ago but we still hoping he can come I really really miss him and I needed his help with children and I don't know if it take long because we from a low country as well we applied in Fiji

Ahh must be really hard for you with 4 kids. I am only by myself and at times I need my husband’s support desperately, i can only imagine how hard it is for you with all your kids. We can only hope and pray, its a matter of time now for us 2017 ones but being patient is easier said than done 😒

It really hard with them especially when I'm sick or one of them in the hospital...i just wanted my husband by my side to help with them....waiting is very frustrating but let just not lose hope and keep praying...goodluck to you and everyones that still waiting

Hi everyone. I’ve been reading through this forum for a long time. I am currently going through a really bad phase myself and it’s extremely painful. Just going to share my timeline for those who might relate to me. I am the sponsor living in Australia, my husband lives in Pakistan.

    DOL: 15th July 2017

Interview & Medical request: March 2018

Ever since then there’s no correspondence from them aside from a few auto emails saying Your application is progressing. I also did visit my husband in Pakistan August 2018 to dec 2018. We uploaded our photos together and when i came back in March I got the interview call but my husband didn’t get any calls. I was so happy that his application is progressing however I was wrong because from then on until now there’s no progress. it’s been a total of above 22 months since we have lodged and 14 months since the interview and medical so now his medical examination is most certainly expired 😢 Throughout this entire time from march 2018 until now i’ve tried every single thing. I’ve been in contact with them every other month basically. I kept asking them about the progress to which they only replied Mandatory checks are being completed please be patient. So my husband applied for visit visa in February 2019 as well but he was rejected because of no travel history etc. I then called the immigration feedback line and told them my formal complaint regarding the delay to which I got an email from the Senior Manager in islamabad immi department saying we know the delay is causing you concern but department checks are going on & we can’t give you a definitive timeframe.

I had been seeing a psychologist because of the stress this delay has caused me and my psychologist then wrote a letter giving out my personal health details and mentioning how i can’t travel to see my husband because i am now my mother’s sole career and my husband has been rejected a visit visa either so we have no option and my husband then emailed that letter and requested for priority processing however... we have been disappointed again.. they’ve sent us a generic email again saying that checks are going on and if there’s any update they will let us know.

at this point we don’t honesty know what is going on. There’s a bit of citizenship delay for me too but everyone has told me that doesn’t affect this because I am a permenant resident so i can sponsor him. There’s no such complications in our application. we haven’t been previously married or anything i just don’t understand what’s causing the delay. we have not seen eachother since dec 2018 & with this state of application i don’t think they will finalis our application even by 24th month which is qhat most people say that by 2 years it does get finalised that’s the maximum. we are only a month and a half away from hitting 2 years and still nothing.....

I thought I was the only one who wait from 2017 I actually applied for my husband in June 2017 I only got few weeks then it gonna be 2 years of waiting we have 4 children I've visited him twice r year but the last time we visit him was Feb last year as I can't afford anymore to take my 4 boys I'm not working just looking after kids they all under 6 years old I'm a permanent resident aswell and Im waiting so clueless never have a interview but now I know u still waiting too it make me feel better but still hoping to get finalise soon

    Hey Guys

i just wanted to say couple of things over here ...

Dr.samra , Kina Sa : Yes its a good idea to contact the local MP if your husband/yourself is in Australia as couple of years ago a friend of mine had same problem with his PR. he waited for 2/3 years while normal processing time was 6 months and he contacted the local MP and she assured to help him out. after 10/15 days he got the visa straight ... he was informed later his case went to ASIS check thats why it took so long.. and its true they send some random cases to ASIS .. and they took fkn long to process.

In my experience people who have applied through migration agent it took them very long to get the visa then the ones who applied by them selves .. it might be because of the fraud level they experience via migration agents specially from sub continent.

lastly do not be afraid of sending them email now and then to ask them the progress. they will definitely reply though it will be some thing trivial like we are doing check this and that... but still its a good idea to get your case out from the stack (thats what i think).

How to I contact MP please it would be a help for us if that's happened I appreciate your help thanks

This short reply from Home affairs numerous times and couple of times a bit lengthier ones as well as my immigration agent from ZARNAB emailed them on my behalf. Like the following when status update was asked from them:

Please be advised that there are a number of checking processes that may be undertaken as part of the visa approval process, including health, character and national security checks. Your client's visa application is
currently undergoing mandatory departmental checks. The visa application will be concluded after the completion of checks.

Our office recognises that the time taken to process your application may be causing your client and his family few concern however please note that further assessment and/or finalisation consideration of your application cannot proceed until all legislative requirements have been met.

You will be notified when there would be update on your client's case.

    Yours sincerely,
    Immigration and Border Protection Section
    (Department of Home Affairs)

    Australian High Commission, Islamabad"

Yes that's the only email I received from them is it something good or taking further time

Thank you and InshaAllah everyone here waiting should get their grants soon. What frustrates me about my case is that I don’t the reason for such long delay neither does my agent. When I applied in July 2017 my agent assured me i’ll get visa in 6 months time as our case was pretty strong and straight forward. Honestly im now tired of waiting and so is my husband. I just want the home affairs to send their decision now whether its grant or rejection im ok with both decisions but waiting cluelessly is definitely not ok.

We both on the Same pages here I just want to know their decision rejected or grands I don't mind we can always try other options and not waiting cluelessly I'll be praying for u too and lets not lose hope

A person who had applied for skilled migrantion through same agent as mine got his PR on 15th March but I don’t know when he had applied for it.

And not that I received my grant or anything but my immigration agent told me suddenly last week my name on their company’s immi account jumped on 1st page and on top of list from page 3. He said it means that CO opened my file again after a long time, almost a year. According to him, i will receive my grant soon but this time i’m not creating high hopes just to be disappointed again.

For those who don’t know... I applied for 309 on 28th July 2017.

Best of luck to you I've been waiting as well I applied for my husbands visa on 12 of June 2017 so it has passed 20month but I'm still hoping for something good after all this wait good luck to everyone who are still waiting

Not necessary. May be you would be able to get any update. If you explain your situation. You can google e-mail add.

but one more thing, perhaps you won’t be able to get any reply. If your sponsor is authorised person then he/she can get it since he/she would be citizen/PR

Ok thankyou it more helpful every email I send even my wife we both explain our situation but the least we can do is waiting patiently...i hope for a golden email soon

One applicant's visa has gone rejected for not travelling back to meet partner for 20 months.

Ask your family to visit you if possible. Which is expensive and not affordable.  Otherwise you may pay $$$ for review or apply again if they reject application.

My wife and kids visit me once a year...it hard because it expensive and my wife's not working she only look after our 4 children all under 7 years old

  16. 19 minutes ago, Dr.samra said:

Yeah im waiting since July 2017. You didn’t get any call from embassy? What about your sponsor? Is he/she in Australia? He/she must have got interview call then. Did they ever email you to ask for further documents?

Yeah my wife live in Australia and she hasn't got a call yet she's in Australia with our 4 children and it frustrate not hearing anything and we haven't received any email for further documents
