Hi guys, thanks for the above responses. I called the immigration up and did what they asked me to do(fill up form 1446 and attach it to immi account and send an email). I did it, and after a day got a ‘notification of visa refusal’ for the tourist visa application. Is this their way of cancelling the visa? Or should I be worried? I found this right at the end of the decision record, but just can’t make sense of the wording used! : My decision is based on the following factors It is noted that your 309 aplication was finalised on 23/03/2018. Therefore, your purpose of visit to travel on a visitor visa is not valid. I am not satisfied that you genuinely intend to stay temporarily in Australia for the purpose you have stated, and therefore find that you do not satisfy Subclause 600.211 of the Migration Regulations 1994 Thanks, Sanjay

Hi Snifter, thanks for your reply. This clears things now. I just need to upload this as an attachment onto the immiaccount then! Hopefully they will pick this attachement up before proceeding with the application. Thanks, Sanjay

Thanks for the reply Maggie. Will it be sufficient if we fill and upload the form 1446(visa withdrawal form) to the online visitor visa application, inorder to let them know that we already have the 309 approved? Also, assuming that the 309 would be now reflective on her passport number, wouldn’t they see it while trying to process her visitor visa, and technically should check with the applicant? Hello everyone I have a query about my partner’s spouse visa that has been granted. We applied this on Jan 8th, and was of the notion that it will take a minimum of 11 months as was mentioned in the portal. She had applied a visitor visa on March 7th, in order to join me here while the spouse visa was being processed. Surprisingly , she got a call from immigration yesterday, and after a few questions, was granted the visa!! ? All happy! But now I am not very sure of how to go about with the existing visitor visa application. Can I call immigration on her behalf and cancel it ( sounds unlikely), or will she have to do it by herself? Or since 309 is a higher visa class, will it automatically override the visitor visa? Or would there be any complications? Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Sanjay
