    My details

Application lodged on the 10th of jan 2018

Nomination and application both approved on the 30th of August 2018

VISA REQUESTS: UPDATED MEDICALS AND NEW AFP CHECKS.

Got the medicals done today, feeling optimistic but a bit scared. I've hear that when you get a request for medicals, it means you're almost in.

Hey @Totto, did you have old medicals and AFP already in your application when you first lodged it? My gf Italian police check will expire this week, I already have an updated version valid until july 2019, but I wasn't sure if I should upload it now if the CO doesn't ask for it.

  3. Hi all

I have applied for a 186 visa (DE) in January and uploaded all the required documentation, including the dreaded form 80.

The part E of the form is about international travel and movements, and asks

18 Have you travelled to any country other than Australia in the last 10 years?

    • work or study outside your usual country of residence

    • holiday/leisure trips

    • business

    • military deployment

    • visits back to your own country.

My question is: the information I have provided are updated to January, but I have been abroad since the lodgement, should I update somehow the records? I can't upload a new form 80, but I see I can update my circumstances, maybe I should put it in there?

    thanks

  4. Hey, I am currently on a 457 and I have applied for 186 DE in January, so our cases are very similar.

I just got the interim medicare card 2 weeks ago, I had a reciprocal medicare that expired at the end of june, so I didn't really need to do it before than.

So it is possible to get the interim card, which lasts 1 year from the day of lodgement, and can be renewed if the visa hasn't been processed yet, I'm not sure why they didn't let you. I think there's 3 possible explanations

1 - Are you from a country that has a reciprocal deal with Australia? check them here, maybe you need to be in order to get the interim?

2 - the person you talked to had no idea what she was doing ? I did mine at centrelink in Crown St

3 - The person I talked to had no idea what she was doing and shouldn't have let me and my partner get it ? ? ?

  5. I'll ask this again: having travelled outside of Australia after lodging the application, do you think I should update the form 80 (Part E, reguarding international travel movements in the past 10 years). At the moment my form is already part of the application and it's updated to the day I lodged.

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question, i'm a 457 holder (valid for 4 years until July 2019), currently applying for my PR under 186 ENS/TRT (further assessment, both nomination & visa lodged October 2017)

In case my nomination being refused,  I  will withdraw my 186 application, then what will I happen :

still able to stay/work here until my 457 expire or will the bridging visa A will be in effect?

    Appreciate your advice.

I discussed the same situation with a MA about a year ago, she guaranteed that my 457 would still be valid.

Since I applied for 186 DE (Jan 18) I have traveled outside of the country with no problems because the 457 is the visa being active, not the Bridging A, that should confirm it.

Thats what I thought but my MA suggested to wait until immi asks for it. I might as well just submit it.

Your MA definitely knows it better than me. Why don't you ask him/her why it's better to wait? And if you do, let us know what they say ?

Now that we're talking about it: I have provided my Form 80 in January, but I've been abroad last month, should I send some kind of updated version with this new information?

Well the Australian immigration don't really care about anything except illegal immigrants entering , recently many athletes from all over the world came into aus and about 250 refused to return back to their countries, and now I read on 7news that 190 of them got their 3year visa approval and they will get benefits as well  , and after 3 years they might get PR also.

so what I mean to say is that immigration doesn't really care how well ur educated or how well u pay taxes . So better be an illegal immigrant ?rather than putting ur efforts and wasting time on PR application approval ,   Who has read the news and agrees ?

those people entered the country legally on a temporary visa. They are now requesting asylum, which is a right granted by the Geneva Convention. There's no illegal immigrant involved in the story, just a few of those guys that have overstayed their visa. The government hasn't issued visas for those guys yet, it's just assessing them and evaluating humanitarian and protection reasons for any case, like in any decent country.

And I'm not trying to defend the current govt in any way, they have been terrible in most cases for other asylum seekers.

I don't buy that at all.

There are basic maths involved here with margins of error and correction predictions attached that would go into the formulation of the processing times They and we are well aware of the influx of applications and when so Im not sure why these times are so susceptible to change, They should have been factored in better.

    It lacks logic.

the alternative is that those numbers are just calculated like this

    giphy.gif

which can absolutely be the case

Is that up or down for you?

DE is a 4 month increase!

That's a more then 30% increase on the waiting time in just 1 month... LIKE HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE????

I'm DE, so it's a big change. But as I said before, I suspect it's due to the increase of applications started in April/May 2017 when a lot of people rushed in sending their applications. I myself have rushed and decided to apply through DE because I wasn't sure the TRT wasn't going to be an option for me anymore. If the number of DE has increased substantially in april, I kind of understand that the processing times varied (and could vary even more in the upcoming months).

That said, I still hope I won't have such a long wait ahead of me, but I've been waiting for just 4 months, I can't understand the frustration of who applied maybe in 2016 or early 2017..

  11. I don't wanna judge your reaction, I can understand the frustration, but some fluctuation in the timeline is understandable.

Officially the dept is processing applications lodged  "from June 2016 to March 2017" (I just sent an email to NSW PSE to get an autoreply with the processing status update), we've seen that it doesn't mean that applications lodged later than that aren't processed, but still, that's the official status.

Considering that the visa changes were announced in April 2017 I would understand if the timeline changed for worse in the upcoming months. I have ZERO facts to say this for sure, but the number of application lodged from April 2017 was higher on average than in the months before, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if the estimate changed according to that. I also have zero knowledge of the number of people the dept has working on visas, but pretending that number doesn't change, the reason for these fluctuations to happen is an higher no. of application to process, which is understandable.

Anyway, we've seen how the estimates don't always mean much (otherwise we wouldn't see all these cases of visas approved in 3/4 months or more than 16 months), I wouldn't worry today more than I did yesterday. It's a waiting game.

Parkesy can you predict my approval please?

    #sidenote

How do you tag someones name in the forum?

@Bellabonkers just write @ and start typing the username you're looking for, the field will autopopulate itself, the more you type the closer the suggestion will be, just like on facebook/twitter etc

Though you signed the letter that you will be working for the next 2 years, Immigration cannot legally force or cancel your visa on that ground. Cos you can always argue that situation changes. You planned 2 years ago then things changed so you need to make another plan,

Did you actually sign such a letter and provided it together with the rest of the documentation for your visa? Or is it a declaration included in the form 80 that I forgot about? I have applied for a 186 DE, I'm aware of the moral obligation etc etc, but I've never heard of the need of a signed letter.

    Hi,

yes I was aware of this and I responded as everyone else did saying ‘Yes still waiting’

    That was in Feb...

that same person has clearly decided to just go on a spreadsheet cleanse rampage ... over a month later! (As detailed in my post!)

    Extremely frustrating....

    :|

Somebody has removed the only application approved in my month (jan 2018) as well, it just felt good have one already processed next to mine :D

Not sure why should someone mess with the doc like that, honestly

    I KNOW!!!

i looked today and I know I was removed on the 26th March at 10.38am but the user was anonymous - the same user was on there for over an hour removing people and writing “are you still waiting”

    LEAVE THE SPREADSHEET ALONE!

A while ago somebody in this thread wandered if all those "pending" were from people actually waiting or from somebody who just got their pr and forgot about the spreadsheet because of too much champagne. What they did, I'm not sure who, was writing "are you still waiting?" on the notes for all of the "old" pending applications, hoping that people waiting for the visa would check the spreadsheet regularly, see that and reply with some info. The plan was, at some point, to remove whoever would not respond in there.

Where you aware of this? Could it be that you didn't reply there and hence somebody removed the line?

    Definetly updating!

Someone on here got refused in the last 10 days for not having up to date BAS.

.... also on the email correspondence automated message you get back if you email it states that’s they are refusing applications that are not up to date in order to make the process quicker.

when you talk about "updating" your docs what are these docs you're talking about exactly? I'm DE and already working for the company that is sponsoring me (under a 457), I've done a hopefully very thorough job in listing and uploading all the documents needed. What could you upload other than what's in the list? Month to month payslips?
