Hey Tony,
I'm afraid it doesn't work based on the processing time on the date of submission. When we submitted our application, the processing time was ~56 days. We're now 6 months in, with no answer yet...
The waiting game is a nightmare...!

Oh bugger!!!! R nomination was approved 8th June........... so frustrating hey [emoji35]
For sure! It’s frustrating as the processing times keep getting longer. As you get closer, they extend it again.
Did you get asked to provide extra information? Or is your application still ‘received’?

Hi all,
Anybody still waiting for 457’s submitted March 2017?
Hey Shelley,
Still no luck either? I’ve been waiting since May. Apparently ours is held up on the nomination approval, but no timescale... -
Have u heard back yet memcc?
Not a thing - we’re going a bit spare! How about you? -
Global visa processing times

Hey
How long did it take them to get back to you re the priority allocation request? Also do u mind me asking what reasoning was given? It sounds hopeful that you will be hearing soon!
No idea around reasoning - all correspondence went through my sponsor. Timescale was approx 1 week. -

I wonder what security checks they do? Mine is showing assessment in progress, how long does it take normally when it gets to assessment in progress stage?
No idea - they didn't give an ETA on when the checks would be wrapped up, or what the checks were. Guess it's just a waiting game...!

My prospective employer has also successfully applied to have my nomination placed in the priority queue. It was approved 9 days ago. Really hoping it comes through any day now...! It's been such a long process up to this point. How long have others waited once in the priority queue?
I'm in the same boat - been on the priority queue for ~1week now. I rang them up earlier as there had been no movement, and they said things were progressing with the application. Apparently the case officer is waiting on security checks coming back.
My ImmiAccount only shows Application Received as the status, so it's interesting that there is actually stuff going on behind the scenes.

Memcc that is very similar! It's good to know we are not the only ones. Fingers crossed its not much longer, it seems impossible to tell. What occupation are you applying under?
Yeah definitely - I'm from the UK and heading out as a Software Engineer. How about yourself?

Hey!
I dont know about everyone else but this wait is driving us crazy. Nomination and 457 submitted 8th May, employer was asked for more info on 30th May which was promptly submitted and we have heard nothing since. It's now been almost 3 months since the request!
Does anyone have a similar timescale?
Hey Mhson,
Our timelines are pretty much the same. Nomination application ~9th May, more information requested end of May and submitted back 2 weeks after.
The 457 visa application has just stuck at “Received” since it was submitted.
Hope there isn’t too much more of a wait...!

We got the OK for priority ...just hoping it comes thru granted now!
Hey Jamie! Did you request the priority processing? Or does it have to be the employer? -
Update : Visa granted!!!
Looking at my application, the visa was actually applied in Feb 2016, but extra documents needed lengthened the visa time considerably. Regardless, I'm pleased that the visa was approved. Best of luck to everyone !
Brilliant news! Congrats [emoji4]

I doubt it? A credit search isn’t part of the application process...

We are in the same boat too.
Visa application submitted on 9th June, and no change in status since.

Hey Frukoz,
If you are from the UK, you are entitled to Medicare cover.
The crux here is that you can only register for Medicare once you are physically in the country. You can take out insurance from any of the private medical insurance companies. Once you arrive, you need to register with Medicare, and then are free to cancel the policy.
If you have worldwide travel insurance, this may also cover you for the initial few weeks until you can register with Medicare.
