To be honest if you truly are an expert in your field, unless its age (or work experience years) that are working against you, it will be easier to apply for a bog-standard skilled visa.

No, the skilled standard visas like the 189 are barely invited anymore. In October only 30 people got invited! Offshore it is almost impossible to get any visa this financial year.

  2. Hi guys,  me and my partner (35 and 42 yrs old)  are also arriving August 21st in Adelaide. We would love to meet some new people and hear other peoples story about their move down under. Can you add us to the list, please?

  3. Kaufland is totally different from Aldi and Lidl. It is not a discounter but a full range supermarket. They also some clothes, books, car and bike stuff, household items and other non-food items as well as a counter for fresh meat and cheese.

I don't like to shop at Kaufland so much because of the dark narrow alleys and I always find it hard to find what I am looking for (at least over here in Germany). Anyway, it will be good to have another competitor on the market to challenge Coles and Wollworth.

  4. First, you have to check if you are a resident or non-resident for tax-purposes:

Then you can see how much tax you pay. It also depends on your income:

This tool helps you to calculate your tax and your netto income:
