  1. Hi,

I'm able to apply for my 801 Partner visa (permanent) on 2nd May 2021. I've been told I can submit my documents no more than a month before, but wanted to get ahead of the game and gather together what I need so I can apply as soon as I'm able to. While the Immi website clearly tells me all the steps, I can't find info on what I have to submit/upload.

Does anyone know what I need to have to submit? I've continued to gather the usual personal evidence over the last 2 years for our life together and our circumstances haven't changed since moving here.

    Thanks for any help!

Out of interest, has anyone here used an agent and, if so, how helpful and communicative have they been? I have zero idea what’s going on and can’t log in to Immi account at all, which is fine, but zero communication is frustrating especially as we know things are happening amongst this group. X

We used an agent...he was great and we got regular communication, and a phone meeting every couple of months.

We got the email this morning. 309/100 granted overnight whilst we were asleep one half an hour after the other. We applied on May 9th via a migration agent with everything uploaded except the medical which was requested a few weeks later. We have heard nothing since then until now. I am british, my husband is an eligible NZ citizen - he lived in oz 1999-2001. We have both lived together in the UK pretty much since then. Married 13 years. 3 kids with dual NZ/UK citizenship also on the visa who were also granted permanent residency last night. Had booked flights this week regardless and I had a 3 month visitor visa. I am due to start work in february and my work there had starting looking into an additional temporary work sponsorship visa to ensure I could start. No need for that now. Slightly in shock but it’s an amazing feeling. Clearly they are suddenly processing their many piles of waiting visas.  Hopefully all of you waiting will get the news you want very soon. We didn’t believe it would happen then suddenly it does.

Congratulations!!!!!!! What a week it's been for lots of us.

I'm literally in the process of packing to fly out on Wednesday. Frantically preparing my property for the estate agent as it's going on the market this week. So many things to sort out!

Just curious, what was the first thing you did once you found out?

Immediately phoned my other half up in Adelaide to tell him (my hands were trembly so much I couldn't hit the right keys!) - then I was with clients for 6 hours solid so had to switch brain off from visa thoughts completely. It's hit me completely today - woke up and remembered life had changed since yesterday!! It's champagne tonight and the start of making many urgent 'to do' lists. Need to figure out when to close down my business (sole trader) so once I've done that everything else will be easier to deal with. And I can actually look for jobs in Oz too. Wow!

Fingers crossed that London processing continues at this pace 😊

  5. Can't believe it! We got our golden email today! PMV 300 granted through London - perfect timing as I fly to Adelaide next Wednesday. Guess I'd better get on with organising our wedding which is happening in 11 weeks time 😱😊

I don't think the news has really sunk in yet as I got the email 10 minutes before I started work so quickly spoke to my partner over in Oz then have been flat out since then. Still in shock!

Good luck to you all out there!

I think the reason many of us have been thrown into a panic is due to the order in which our applications are being processed, there’s definitely activity on here and I’ve been reading of a few grants on the Australian Forum, it’s a very stressful time waiting when so many of us have so much at stake.

Yeah, it's defo the order in terms of applications lodged and grants received which is throwing a few of us now that London seems to be finally moving on things. As I said before, I can only hope that there are a few piles on which we are all sitting so one pile might be seen faster than another pile. That's what I'm comforting myself with anyway! (simplistic visualisation, I know!!)

I've a meeting tomorrow with my RMA so will see what he's saying. Nothing he can do to speed things along, but at least he's keeping in contact! We hit month 8 of waiting this week...🙄

Hi All, exciting news, just had my 309 and 100 granted. Applied 2nd of April, without an agent. Request for sponsors UK and Australian police checks on 9th October, received and uploaded 20th...granted today. I hope this gives some hope to all others still waiting. It’s a relief to have the email and to be able to focus on something else. Fingers crossed you all get your grants soon and you can start making plans for the future....congratulations too to those who have also recently had their grants x emoji4.png

Wow! Another grant from London! How exciting! Congratulations 😊  Hope you're celebrating this weekend!!

  8. Fingers crossed London is starting to move on things. Must say although I was excited to read about the last few grants, the fact they're after we lodged is a little distressing...trying to remain positive, though (still!). There are times when I find this whole process utterly disheartening - just keep hoping that our application is on a different pile to those that have already been granted and that there isn't an issue with ours.

I hope I didn't sound smug?because I really wouldn't want to 😕...I had the same issues and more last year! apart from having to move the wedding back we then had to get a new celebrant because ours couldn't move the date! Then my health check which was literally around Christmas week last year ended up being referred and I had to pay an extra £1000 for a CT scan! Before the New year!   I found it so hard to plan Christmas last year too. So, I really do sympathise with everyone still waiting- all I can say is that it's been so worth it, to finally be together in the same country without a time limit as such even if it's still temporary. I hope you have a great trip here and that everything works out for you soon too 🙂

Don't worry, you didn't sound smug in the slightest! I'm genuinely delighted to hear about folk getting movement on visa decisions 😊 It gives the rest of us a boost, believe me. I know it'll all be worth the waiting... We're at the stage of needing a decision as our travelling back and forwards is costing us a fortune in time and money. This will be my fourth trip over this year and my OH's trip back to Scotland over Xmas/New Year has cost an arm and a leg. The things you do for love!! 😍

Been a while since anyone posted here so, fingers crossed 🤞 everyone is doing ok. Quick update from me; finally lodged my 820 application this week and got my bridging visa (for anyone wondering you are issued with bridging visa A once you apply but have to apply for a bridging visa B if you need to leave Australia) for now it's back to the waiting. 😐

Great to get an update from you - and I'm glad you've got your 820 lodged! We all seem to still be waiting for some kind of movement. There was a wee flurry of hope re 309s via London but still nothing really.

So jealous of you being married and in Oz! I fly out in a fortnight and can't wait - although during that trip we're going to have to make the decision as to whether or not to postpone our wedding in January 😑

  11. Just been looking at that Concept Australia website and their statement re processing times for 300/309 visas :

‘Although in the last programme year (July 2017 - June 2018) most applications processed at the Australian High Commission in London were decided within 6 months, we have been advised that applications lodged in the current programme year are expected to take between 10 - 14 months to be finalised. The new processing timetable is roughly in line with global processing times which is due to an increase in the number of applications being processed and the level of staff available at the Australian High Commission.’

Stupid question...does that mean that those applications lodged prior to July 2018 might be a little quicker (okay so I’m clutching at straws here!)?

@Noodlejaffa this answers my question from the other day lol😉 it’s been done now 😊😊

in other news, I’m flying out on 30th- flight is booked 😊

Yeah, thought of you as soon as I read the post! And sent me into a blind panic too! Don't know if I should contact my RMA now. Went through all our lodged docs and there's a form that looks exactly like the 40SP forms in terms of questions. Don't want to sound like an interfering old bag!

Flying 30th Nov? I'm flying out on the 7th Nov 😊

.... we would love to get our house on the market in the new year but worst case if Brexit tanks the economy we may rent it out for a few years before selling ..... have to wait and we see.
So many unknowns at the moment ..... just gotta see where we are when we get the grant, and take it from there ....
I saw someone say grants are usually first and last week of the month so hopefully we hear in the next few weeks.

I'm having the house dilemma at the moment...current mortgage lender may not allow me to rent property out, can't move to a buy to let mortgage with standard lenders as you have to be a UK resident, and although there are expat buy to let mortgages out there I've been reading this weekend about some inter-governmental treaty between UK and Australis that technically precludes lending to each other's residents. Really don't want to sell, but may just have to if we get our PMV granted. And then chuck Brexit into the mix. Marvellous ?!!

Why is nothing ever simple?! Although I'd just be happy with a visa decision at the moment tbh - at least that would feel like progress!

@spangle 1it’s more the notice I have to give in work. To stay on track I need to hand it in at the end of this month. Unfortunately having looked at my buyers lender, this delaying tactic has been used over and over until they go “no sorry, we can’t finance the purchase”. Ironically an Australian company too.

meanwhile I live in hope that the PMV queue will magically start to move....

Oh sorry about that ? What a pain for you regarding house. Really hope that sorts itself so you can at least stick to your plans to go in November.

I had a visa melt down this week because I’m sick of having my entire life on hold. Even planning Xmas is proving difficult and money/time off getting tight while we continue to go back and forward between UK & Oz. But I know I just have to continue to wait for the PMV answer. Honestly I feel I’ve got more chance of seeing a herd of ??? at the moment than actually getting a decision anytime soon!
