  1. Hi, Does anyone know if it's possible to go out to Australia on a 600 long stay tourist visa and then to apply onshore for the partner visa? My partner is Australian and both our children have dual citizenship so we're trying to look at ways we could get there sooner than later. On reading the long stay visa info it says that the visa could be granted with a 'no further stay' condition. Do you know under what circumstances that could happen? Thank you.
  2. Hi, We are looking to relocate to Queensland with our two children (2.5yrs and 4mths). Does anyone have any advice on good suburbs based on the below requirements please? Commute to the city sub 1hr Close proximity to the ocean Good schools Village community with lots of young families Large blocks We have already been recommended Cleveland, Wellington Point and Wynnum so keen to get people's views on these places as well. Thank you!
  3. Hi All, I'm new to this site but looks like its full of great information and lots of very knowledgeable people so I'm hoping someone may be able to help. A bit about me. My husband and I have been together for 7 yrs (married for 5). He is Aussie and I am English. We have two children, both of whom now have their dual nationality and passports. We are looking at moving to Queensland and so I will be applying for the partner visa. Given my situation it should in theory be an easy application and be highly unlikely to be declined. Do you know if any priority is given to so called 'easy win' applications? I.e. do they do any initial assessment before processing? Or do all applications simply go into a queue to get processed within the standard time frame? I understand that the current processing time for these visas is around 12-18mths. Is that a fairly accurate representation of people's experiences? Thank you!
