Our actual visa grant was processed by the Australian Embassy in Beirut.  We have no connection with Beirut (I am Australian and my partner is from the UK) but our agent did tell us that our application had been sent offshore for processing and there has been another thread recently regarding offshore processing of onshore applications.  

Well done for those who have been granted.......I just wondered which state you applied in and where it was granted?

I added a few more on all other contacts but not all of them, for example, my husband - the Aussie - has sisters and nieces/nephews galore but I didn't put any of them down!! I just did the two who provided our Stat Decs and then added my cousin and another contact in the extra section! 

I just put two in this section and it worked for us. 

Just looking for tips, i'm filling out the Form 80 for my partner application and have got to the question on personal contacts in Australia, my question is, how many do I put down, everyone I know?

I have 15 members of family in WA? Then a long list of people I've met through my partner! I could be writing for ages!

I doubt it will speed things up. Tbh the on shore partner visa is running at about 15 months or so iirc so no real point front loading them as they'll probably expire before the grant anyways. 

So applied for my partner visa yesterday and now just working through attaching all the documents, and just wondered how anyone who had front loaded there police and health check were going? Did it help?

Once you are on a bva you are no longer on a tourist visa so no, you don't have to leave after 3 months.
In fact on a bva you can't leave and renter, without applying for a bvb! So you are on a bva until your visa is granted!

I was the same! We saw the processing times and thought right lets get it done. I applied for mine end of May. Had my medical on Wednesday so just waiting for them to connect it all online to my immi account then thats the last bit my case officer has asked for. Then back to waiting!

Not applied for it yet, will be doing it at the beginning of August [emoji51]. Can't wait to just get it done.

We're planning on doing the same, partner is from Melbourne too, I've not read anywhere that we can't, I guess as long as we're contactable, and doesn't sound like they'll need to get hold of us for quite a while anyway!

Hi, can I ask, are you just at the first stage, applying for the 820? And you've added your medical and police clearance?

1. Thank you @dotdotslash that's been a big help........given us a lot to think about. Just out of interest who did you ask to sign your 2 stat decs? Family or Friends?

I'm just wondering what other people have done, I'm going to be entering Australia at the end of July and want to apply asap, going to apply online and just wondered if I should get my documents stamped and certified, and then scan the certified copy?
