Google Private Health Insurance Australia, and yes of course you have to pay for it!
For Family Assistance benefits google Centrelink Family Assistance Benefits.
Hello Nemesis

Housing, education and medical aren't "benefits". Most other benefits aren't available until you have been resident for 2 years or more.
Education for PR children of compulsory school age is free in state schools (apart from voluntary contributions and incidental costs)
Health is covered by Medicare which is essentially a co-pay system but you can take out health insurance to give you better coverage for hospitals, optical, dental, ancillary therapies.
Housing - you're on your own unless you are on a very low income in which case there might be a benefit but don't hold your breath waiting for social housing.
You will be able to apply for Family Assistance benefits but some of these are means tested (Family Tax Benefit, Child Care Rebate, Child Care Benefit)

The date of first entry is set based on when the medicals and police check were done. The medicals and police checks (the latter on you not the child obviously) have to be less than 12 months old on date of first entry. As long as you don't do them before September this year you won't get a first entry date before September 2018.
Hii Ken
Thank you soo much for your quick reply. Well explained!

When her 101 visa is granted, it will have an Initial Entry Date and she'd need to enter Australia on or before that date. If it's before Sept. 2018, you'd need to arrange a separate trip with her or else move your plans forward.
Hii Maggie,
Thank you soo much for your quick reply
How will DIBP calculate first entry date?
Is it from the date of last document submission ( medical or police report) ?

We are PR visa holders and already visited Aussie to validate our visas and came back to our country
Our second child, who is 2 and 9 months old was born after our first entry to Aussie.
We are planning to move permanently by September 2018(before completing 5 years )
Now we are going to apply visa for her under child visa 101.
Suppose if she gets her first entry before September 2018, Can she be requested to travel with us at once in September 2018 ?
We are desperately looking for information in this regards.
Plsssss Help me out
TIA

We are going to lodge a visa application (under child visa 101) for my daughter who is 2 and 9 moths old.
We arranged all the required documents as per the checklist
Does she have to undergo any medical test for applying visa?
Kindly share your experience.
