Presently doing Mates in India and I want to apply for amsa assessment. Should I wait to apply untill I clear my mates in India or should apply with 2mfg?

    Hello Sir,

Whichever COC you use for applying (mates or 2mfg), the process would go beyond 1st July, which is why it is better to wait for the decision from Mr. Peter Dutton, DIBP.

  3. Similar case with me as well look like. I emailed them that my sea service letter would be on agent company in India which is licensed to recruit and place seafarers. Just to be sure. The reply comes with a template attached that the letter needs to be on company letterhead. How can I be getting the same from company when all crewing matters are handled by agent firm with RPSL. I guess if i also mail them several times further, they would allow me to send letter on agent's letterhead. Any one who could advise on this or anyone who has sent letter on agent company's letterhead in past.

    Thanks

  4. Hi everyone,

I am assessing my options as of now. Just a doubt if anyone can clear it. Will AMSA conduct the COR ORAL even if the occupation is removed.? I mean this exam is a part of agreement between nations listed on AMSA site, right? I would be staying on 485 after my study and during that period I am assessing if the COR can be of any help, if industry revives . Any input, appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. Hi All

just a quick question. Any one who could give me details of AMSA approved medical centers in INDIA  for my medicals. I will be in India in june 2017 i.e next month. so wish to book the medical. What is the validity of these medicals? I have not started any application now as I need to get documents re-validated. is this possible to get the medical done beforehand? If yes, will it be accepted when I book the orals for COR?

  6. Hi jithos

Firstly preserve all the emails you are sending to the authority. Also try to get a positive reply from them in your favor. last case, get an official reply from them saying that they do no PCC's for non-residents. As you have already done so, just you need to save the emails and submit later when applying. AMSA will later issue a form in lieu of PCC when they have sufficient evidence that you made efforts for getting the same.

I am also in the same process for CYPRIOT PCC. I do not know whether i would get a PCC for the documents I possess. However, I would have evidence that I applied but did not recieve due to country's laws.

On my skill assessment letter from AMSA it say that I have at least 10 years experience in maritime industry since my initial COC. I obtained my 2nd mates in 2002.

Although I have been sailing since then but  breaks between ships at more than one occasion have been for more than five months.

Not sure if DIMP will consider my experience being equal to eight years in last ten years.

Would appreciate comments from someone with Similar experience .

    Cheers

    Hi

The DIBP would also consider the experience ratified by AMSA. The reason for this is because it is commensurate to the weekends and paid leaves present in land jobs. The exp. in that case is also overall (Never have we seen experience of a person excluding weekends as it is calculated all inclusive). The competency exams are compared to the certifications present in contemporary industries such as IT, Logistics etc. The DIBP considers the experience from first ship to last ship as our vacations are also a part of our specific type of employment.

    Hello Everyone,

I visited this webpage for Cyprus PCC before as well. As of now I do not have any letter from department requesting for the PCC as I have not started the process. As the validity of PCC is 1 year, I wanted to get it done so that in July i could have one thing less to be done.

Now well, could anyone suggest where to contact as I am stuck in this due to no reply. I do have a flag state seaman book i.e Cypriot Seaman book. In the info its not mentioned and other documents are mentioned which i do not possess obv as i didnt stay there. In this case what could be the solution?

    Dear CaptainR,

Is there any possibility of removal of Seafarers occupations from MLTSSL list after 1st July 2017 review or they will remain in the list till 1st July 2018? Appreciate your comments....

In reference to the message in the morning, I guess the list is already out. Every year it is announced this time approx and comes into effect 1st July. So i guess this time as well it would be the same.
