Thanks for everyone's confirmation.. I was sure that's what the deal was but just wanted to check. And it's our choice to delay it. If we're going to be moving half way around the world we want to give the families a little bit of time with their grandchild before we whisk them away.

Hi guys. My husband already has his skills assessment and we are looking to apply for the Visa in the next 12 months. I know that to validate it you have to visit within 12 months but am I right in thinking that you then have 5 years to actually move there? We are due a baby any day now so wouldn't really be in a position to actually relocate for a couple of years at least. Thanks in advance

Hi guys. Thanks for everyones response. Yes, we knew already about the 12 months being from police/medical checks. That was the only part of the whole process that I was a bit unsure about. Well, I say that. I'm sure as we progress through the different stages there'll be other things that confuse me!

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times and I can't seem to find anything online but if we are granted Visa 189 (Just starting this whole process so wish us luck) would all of us (family of 3) have to set foot on Aussie soil within that 12 months or just the main visa holder? Hi there. My husband and I are looking at emigrating to Melbourne sometime next year and I know this is a long shot but does anybody work in a similar role as in the title as I'm looking for some advice regarding roles, salaries, etc? Thanks :-)
