    Hi all.

Just a quick note to everyone..if u have a migration agent, only he is allowed to call immigration and case officer as he is working on your behalf and u have paid to him.

In a recent case my friend keep calling the immigration about some queries..they answered the call and talk to him in general but soon after angry CASE OFFICER called his migration agent a gave him a strict warning to let him know that if he hired a migration agent then only he can correspond on his behalf...for me its not a good sign!! So be careful!!

Thanks for the information which answered my question asked last week.

Was going to ring IMMI to check progress but now I will just be patient.

I do not think it is weird. There are Easter and then ANZAC holidays, so it will slow the process down.

The immigration department goal is now to process 75% in 10 months and 90% in 12 months.

They are publicly justifying that they are still processing files from April 2016. It should alleviate the stress that many people are experiencing.

In a word: don't stress, nothing is wrong with your file, we just have a backlog and are processing files that are one year old.

That being said, it is clear that some applications will be processed faster than that. They may process 60% of application in 8 months, 45% in 6 months etc.

    Makes complete sense to me...

Thanks for your words. Stay tough and calm.

Quick one guys (saves me creating a new thread). For those from the UK when you applied for your ACRO Police Clearance did they email you when it gets dispatched or not?

    Cheers.

if my memory serves me correctly, they will send you an email confirming the job has been completed.

@Sue2017 Thanks for calling and sharing such a great information with us - did they specify that DE has been assigned ?

yes i am DE, not sure whats happening at the background may be they are in the proess of approving  visa 186? as 457 is still in effect i can only hope and pray the result will be positive

Now I know what you mean.

You were on 457 visa while you applied 186 under DE right before two years if I understood you correctly...

Hi @Elliotkan, it might be more than that - my multinational employer's been operating several decades in Aus, public profile includes 5000-10,000 staff in Aus with a revenue of $500M to $1B AUD a year. I thought that would mean a quick nomination approval, but we're waiting nearly one year now (Apr-2016) for both nomination and visa.

If you backtrack in the forum, we've discussed this many times out of frustration and it seems random - at least based on limited information on the spreadsheet. Maybe occupation has something to do with it, volume of applicants per occupation? Supply/demand? Maybe country/nationality? Location within Australia? Some observations:

    • IT/Nursing/Engineering/Teaching/University Academic occupations get processed quickly
    • TRN generally a few months ahead of DE
    • Based on limited data, seems they process 60-70% of cases per month, then move on to a later month with a few other grants trickling in thereafter

Or maybe it's luck based on the team we're lined up for and the cases they have. So much wasted time and energy on this process. In the end, all we have is today.

    Hi @lizzielizzie

    I think you are right.

Reluctant to say this but maybe we should put "luck" as a general answer to who gets approval first...

I do believe that occupation is a key factor which affects their priority... Got a bad feel as mine is quite general.

Anyway, good luck to you and me and everyone on this Forum...

    Hi Praveen Reddy

I think it's possible that the scale of business do affect processing time.

My friend who has recently found a job from one of the biggest Japanese general trading companies in Sydney got his 457 visa approved within just 5 days...

  8. Training fee is said to be the most difficult part of the Nomination.

My MA suggested my boss do 1% instead of throwing 2% to TAFE (She told us that ours is alright)

But I am getting worried as I am aware that 1% is not as solid as 2%.

Does anyone know anything about this training requirement ?

Anyone whose company did the same as my boss did ?

  9. The new processing time doesn't help at all. I applied both nom and visa on the 19/9/2016, still waiting. Hope this will not effect us too much.

I suspect this only takes effects to applications which lodged from this month.

Given we have seen quite a few Sep applications approved and most of them only took less than 6 months...

  10. HOOOOOOOORAY!

Our PR has been finally granted today!!!!!!

Nomination and Visa applied 29 June 2016

    HR, 3 people

    Direct Entry, onshore

Docs on nomination requested - 3 Feb 2017

Gave them a call on 17 Feb 2017

Docs on Visa requested - 17 Feb 2017

Nomination and Visa granted on 9 March 2017.

Thanks everyone for support and sharing your stories!

    GOOD LUCK!

Congrats !! Your good new offers an impt clue that DE applications might be two to three months behind the TN ones...

Good luck to everyone on this Forum !!
