He had the female doctor...
LOL!
My husband was slightly disappointed today when i mentioned this.... he had a nice female irish doctor!! haha! He had his done in Maidenhead, Berkshire. There really isnt anything closer to us. I was surprised at how few locations are available!
-
@koalakate, my husband had his medical yesterday – and yes, he did have to take his pants off (for a cough test)... I guess it will all be worth it in the end! LOL!
Oh my goodness! My hubby didn't have to do this!

Hi we are new here,
but just wanted to give you a bit of information on our timeline as you will probably see everyone is different.
We applied at the end of June
CO was about a month later and then the medical request was the end of august.
since then we haven't heard a peep from them no further information or anything.
Backstory to our situation
My partner and I met in australia in early 2013 lived together for about a year in australia and then moved here in the uk have been here for nearly 2 years and my visa is up in may.
so fingers crossed we get it soon..
Let us know when you hear back!
-
The e-visitor is always granted almost instantly anyway - had no issues whenever I've applied. As long as the partner visa supercedes it if granted then maybe I'll just get it done now.
The lady on the phone at the Europe Service centre assured me that it does.
-
Fair point, but at least by uploading itinerary, they have had pre -warning, so fingers crossed they have it all in the pipeline to grant before your trip!
-
We fly on the 23/02 so 4 weeks today and 5 months would be circa 13/02 so only the 10 days difference.
I'm not going to do my visitor visa until the week we go just to give my partner visa enough to me.
Good plan! Although - even if you do the evictor - the partner visa grant would over ride it...
You uploaded your holiday details etc into immiaccount didn't you? so they know you are going?!
-
Everyone has everything crossed for everyone else...
Let's hope the 5 months didn't finish with August applicants.
What date do you fly out to Australia?
-
Fingers crossed the new week brings some new grants and contact!!
-
We are in the same boat - my partner is just about to do her British naturalisation application though. Want her passport before we go to Oz so if we ever come home then she can without issue.
definitely worth it!
-
Thanks @SimplyRhi. Were you by descent? It's interesting the difference cases. Hopefully this means a quick approval for you. After deciding to not fash about this anymore had a lovely sleep!
Sorry, I missed this, nope, I'm an australian citizen, but gained British citizenship through my marriage. We went through this process for the Uk for me! And now we are doing the same for my hubby so we can finally go live in Australia. It was important to me that I have my British citizenship so as to be void of any immigration restrictions if we had to come back/ the kids moved back etc... ne

definitely :cute:
I'm putting all this on the backburner anyway. Not going to worry and wish for approval, feel like I'm wishing my life away. It'll come when it comes. Off to bed with a cuppa t, night all
I would definitely try not to worry, it seems as though they only get in touch so soon if they have something missing, which would explain my case ?.
I feel really excited that we have contact, and a 28 day deadline, but equally very nervous that we will still end up waiting a really long time afterwards. The waiting is all consuming! It's impossible to think of anything else!
-
Hi. That's great news about your contact. Hopefully quick and easy from now on.
Can I check - you have a British passport however you needed to prove citizenship with a certificate?
Thats correct! They have just asked for evidence as to how i obtained the citizenship. So I assume my citizenship certificate! I'll add in the formal photo of receiving itfor good measure ;-)
-
Has anyone been given the 28 day deadline to provide additional evidence and then gone on to have grant quickly after that, or is it another lengthy wait??
-
You and me both - I'm playing down my chances though as not to be disappointed.
I did think the other day, do you think they tell you to wait for your PC/medical contact as to slow down the processing? I mean if every application was front loaded and needed no additional info then there's no opportunity to buy themselves time etc.
Interesting way to look at it, but why not? surely it helps them as its all done and no need to request....?
Jacquiandpaul - there has been a couple August grants come through, so there is hope!
-
Agree with that Rhi. Let's hope we all get 5 month grants. I'll let you know in 3 weeks if I've been lucky.
I'm literally holding my breathe for you Uhtred! Make sure you update us as soon as you hear anything!
Did you apply for your e-visitor visa just in case?
-
ahh okay, makes me think, if they scan through the applications to see if all documents are there they need and make contact if there is something missing. We are 15 years together, 10 years married with 2 kids who are citizens.
I called last week and they told me we had a C\O and they would be in contact soon to organise medical and police check.
God knows how long that will be.
I hope its not long for any of us!!
-
We applied on the 18th October and have had no contact at all. We haven't done medicals or police check. Is your application straight forward?

I assume its straight forward! ;-) Been married 7 years and have 3 children (all Australian citizens). The request for more info included asking for evidence of 'sponsor' obtaining british citizenship - we just overlooked actually uploading my certificate, but had provided both of my passports.
-
When did you apply?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
14th November.
-
Does anyone know when the Sponsors immi account changes. Mine still says submitted.
I have heard that it doesn't always change.
We had an email this afternoon asking for more information. We have been given 28 days to submit the evidence requested - amongst it is the Police Check, and I assume It flagged because my Husband medical was done yesterday. I have to say though, I'm a bit shocked at how quickly we have had contact, and I just hope that after the 28 day deadline, we don't end up having to wait ages!!
-
Did it say subclass 309 or 100 on the letter.
Ours said permanent 100 - So i was mostly wondering if they all said that as that is ultimately the end result for the application process - or if ours had been looked at, and put through to that status already (wishful thinking!)
-
So when you clicked on organise Health examinations. Did it take you through to a page with yes/no questions? We are 3 months in haven't heard anything.
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
It did - Yes/no declarations and then the referral letter was immediate after that. :-)
-
Yes I see that, it says view health assessment, when I click on that it says examinations required and then there is a link saying organise health examinations?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Thats the place...Thats what we clicked to get the referral letter.
The only risk of getting the medical done was the risk of expiry - so decided to go for it anyway as 2 months in now.
-
Am I missing something. Where do you find the health referral letter?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
When you are in Immiaccount within the application section, there is an option for "health declaration" where the option for "attach document" is... once you fill in the health declaration questions it gives you a referral letter to take to your appointment.
-
Hey everyone - just wanted to let you know that we got the email asking my husband to go for his health examination and the police check today. I am so relieved!
Fantastic news!! Wont take long now hopefully! :-)

We had contact from our CO, and no status has changed, still says 'received' and 'submitted'.
We are waiting on our police check to come through, and then we can submit the requested documents - we were given 28 days, it's been 6, and feels like a month has passed already while we wait!!
Uhtred - when you did your PC - how long did it take to arrive??
