  1. Sort of good news.

My case officer Rosemary emailed me asking to confirm if I've lived outside of the uk in the last decade.

I confirmed that I had not. I mentioned that I'm travelling on the 4th.

    Hopefully good news soon

We had the same case officer - and we needed to provide a statement similar, and once supplied - we had our grant within 3 days.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. So I've just woken up in stifling heat and checked my emails....

Someone has a grant letter sitting there!!

Over the moon really that it's finally been granted but gutted it couldn't have been 4 days ago before I travelled. I've now got to be back by 11/09/17 as that's when my police check expires.

But....at just over 5 months I've been granted. Finally.

    Party time.

Fantastic!! Congratulations!! Brilliant news!! Can you quickly nip away overseas for a day while you are there to re-enter and activate it??

  3. Well that was a waste of time. The Europe centre said the same, we have been assigned a C/O and they are assessing the application, no other info is required at this time and they will be in contact soon but can't tell me when to do medical and police check. I don't know weather to take this as a good thing or a bad thing.

I mentioned the DV vetting and she said the C/O knows all this.

I asked where they were up to with grants and she said the time scale is 10/14 months, she was giving nothing away.

She also said he could apply for jobs but would need to tell them that the visa is not yet granted .

So in a nutshell no further on.

ARGH! Frustrating. You need to convince hubby to just go for it! :-)

  4. I want to, but he wants to wait for contact. It's stressing me out atm, there is so much to do before we leave. We shall see what they say when we call. It's seems you always get the same answer when you call though. As they are just call handlers.

Very true - We got told - there isnt any reason you can't go ahead with the medical before contact, however to be aware they have validity dates. My hubby just went with what i suggested, but i was holding my breathe that we were doing the right thing - turned out it was! :-)

  5. Hi Beffers,

Thanks for the info, it's really interesting, me and my husband are quite baffled as he has gone through these checks when he joined nearly 13 years ago.

We are going to call the Europe centre and just double check things.

Have you thought about getting the medical and PC done now, before you have request. It could trigger them to get cracking on the application? This is pretty much what happened with us. We booked medical, the day after it was done the CO contacted us to get the PC and an additional document..

  6. We submitted 5 form 888. 3 people who are living in Australia now and the other 2 are aussie citizens but living in the UK.

Did she give you any info to where your application is up to?

We submitted 4 from Australia who are all citizens, and also, had 2 from the UK - used the form 888 but didn't worry about having their ID certified.... just had the form witnessed by someone on the list. We have lived in the U.K. For 8 years together, but had friends in Australia who attended our wedding and we had visited etc, so used them.....

  7. It's a lot like people being served ahead of you at the bar. People can say, don't worry, you'll be next...

    ... yeah but...

I'm still feeling guilty that we got such a super fast grant and others other waiting. I don't understand it at all. I saw your comment about advising someone to make a mistake/leave something off their application so they get contact.....

this is almost what happened with us. Applied; all fine, then we did medical, and realised we had made a mistake, so uploaded document to rectify and then we had contact requesting something else we forgot and the police check, uploaded the requested info and had a grant a week later!! All in under 3 months....

  8. Wow that's so fast. Did you have it fast tracked. Can you just let us know was it a straight forward application? When did you do medical etc.

It was straight forward, no option to fast track: we did however make a mistake on our application and accidentally left off a document that was requested after medical was submitted (January 20th) , but other than that, everything was simple. I have no idea how it was so quick, but we are ecstatic, 3 kids to prep for the move and our house to get in order, we can relax about this part of it now.

  9. OMG I was granted my visa today!!!! Soooo happy and relieved :jiggy:

4 1/2 months so quicker than I expected. They requested medicals last week so I booked in asap and fast tracked police check. Medical was Wednesday, all clear Thursday and uploaded police check, visa grant Friday!

    Our situation:

My husband is British and was finalising his permanent residency visa when we met so didn't have time to discuss it and add me on.

Met 3 years ago, became an 'official' couple when he moved in Dec 14, bought our house joint mortgage April 15, Got married September 15. Validated hubbys visa October 15 on our honeymoon. No children.

    309 visa approved.

Good Luck to everyone and hope to see more visa grants very soon. Keep the faith x

woow! Soooo cool!! Yay! Congratulations!! They are rolling in!!

    Has everyone checked their emails?!

  10. That's the thing, we are really straight forward too, we are together 15 years, married 10 years, with 2 kids who are aussie citizens. It says on our application that the application is placed in a queue and processed in a date order. I don't know how it works

Really hope you hear soon. I wonder if they are given to a CO, and the CO's process them slightly differently. Ie: Some CO's seem to get in touch at the 5 month mark, ask for medical/pc and then grant like a week later, others get contact earlier, and then have a 2-3 month wait for the grant.... (all seem to be similar in total time to be granted though - so thats a positive!)

  11. First contact today, requested that we provide our medical and police report within 28 days. We applied 9th November in London via online account.

Brilliant!! We applied 14th November - went for the medical before being asked and once it was cleared they requested the Police check... sounds like we are at similar stages. We got PC in the post today - so we will be uploaded all final info tonight. Lets hope we dont have a massive wait after this - i'm hoping maybe only 2 months! lol

  12. I applied on 03rd September 2016

No contact, no requests. All documents uploaded. Medical and police checks front loaded.

It's five months this Friday. I feel like a pregnant woman whose due date is coming up.

Hopefully I will be the canary for the September applicants.

Fingers are crossed that you and Uhtred both get your grants asap!! The waiting is horrendous!

  13. I got the request to do my medicals and police check today, yay! Checked Immi account and Hubby has been approved as a sponsor on there too so I'm very happy :-) Will get on to organising all that tomorrow.

We can continue with our plans to get the house on the market in a couple of weeks and are still on track to hopefully move at the end of June.

I'm so excited that things are progressing

Fantastic!! Sounds like there is more going on now... good news all round!

  14. Yes we go on Friday, phew! How long does it take to update on the immiaccount? Don't think we'll have to wait for too long after all updated. Congratulations again! x

Good luck Friday! My hubby was really impressed with how smooth the whole process was and actually enjoyed the experience! ;-) It was all loaded and confirmed as successful (I cant remember the exact word on the immiaccount) 48 hours after. :-)

Have you done PC? So basically, this is the final info submitted? Which would hopefully put you at the stage that Ashabree was - with her grant coming a week later???

  15. Hey guys, just a quick note to say that my husband had his visas (309 and 100) granted today!

We are really grateful for everyone's support and kind words over the last few months. I feel a bit silly for being so worried about not hearing anything for most of our 5 month 9 day waiting time, as it's come through now, 1 week and 1 day after our first and only contact from our CO. We are feeling very fortunate right now and cant wait for the next stage of our life to start. I hope that our news is good news for some of you also waiting and in similar situations.

    Yay!!

Super exciting news!! What a happy Monday it is for you guys! Make sure to keep us updated with your moving plans etc!
