  1. Might be worth complaining to your local federal member of parliament.
Dont know if it will make any difference but if many people start making noise about how we are be rorted by the immi Dept then maybe something will happen.

Do they any other body or organisation that we can seek help... I know a frnd of mine frnd who is waiting from 18-19 months..although he has issues with his file but making people wait for this long period is not good..If they are not satisfied they should refuse it and let him go..but freezing files is not fair enough

  2. 'The least important'... and yet my boss (and I being the manager of the shop) always struggle in finding proper and reliable staff particularly being in a regional area. Yes, many Australians apply for jobs, they say and promise to be the best workers and then they call in sick after the second week they start, they slack at their job thinking "oh someone else will do it" and they have no commitment in what they do particularly in the hospitality and retail industries. Australians in these industries are the worst, only very few are good but they are difficult to find or they are already employed somewhere else.

I agree with this statement.. In our workplaces these things are common. In this stance as we can see that when we call immigration they say we have shortage of staff. They have shortage of train drivers, Gps and in many more professions..thats why they hire foreign labour. We work hard we hardly question and ask anything frm our managements. Some of the days u can feel that only u r working at ur workplace..And in return favour if we choose this life and asking for permanent residency and being genuine.. still they want to be partial. Because of some people do frauds and do illegal things it is not fair with other applicants that have given the most important age of their life in contributing their economy...plz dont be offended..jst sharing my views

Hi nothing is happening here I hv applied 11/04/2016 onshore de cook.. there are some applicants waiting from March as well.. unfortunately all we have to do is wait because no one is answering our questions. No migration agent is helping and nor immi.. so on this forum we can just share our feelings and experience bcoz we all r on same boat..Atleast we can be each others strength in this endless wait..still trying to be positive[emoji17]

  5. Hi, I've been following this thread for the past few months but not posted before. Got some news about my application a few days ago but it's not exactly encouraging:
    Occupation: Hotel / Motel Manager
Applied nomination and visa together 7th April 2016
    LR country, direct entry
Immigration contacted 25/4/17 and have asked for a lot more information about the business I work for such as BAS statements, all of my payslips, resignation letter from the person who's job I took over, new employment contract, new job description, market salary research as there's no equivalent employee.
I thought it all sounds pretty standard but my agent said he has "concerns" because in 97% of his cases immigration have assessed the employer and applicant together but in this case they haven't even opened my visa application yet. Apparently he feels they're subjecting the business to a higher level of scrutiny than normal.
Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Did they contacted you on Anzac day..public holiday thats strange.. anyways Dont stress mate jst provide wht they want and hope fr gud.. best of luck

  7. Why did you said that. I think if you have a genuine position and a good company to sponsor you, you have nothing to worry much about even they get stricter, it will just depends on case officer decision then, but if it looks dodgy it will just buy you time then.

Till now everything is fine even I m working there as well on casual position and business is operating normal. Whenever I go to my working place I always think may be Immi will visit today or tomorro but they r not doing any moment jst bcoz I m from hospitality industry got sponserd as a cook and frm HR country dats why I m thinking all this...I m jst feeling very low

  8. Hi Guys I m just giving up hope..it seems like they will take another 2-3 months and they will give negative result bcoz they will start looking at the cases according to todays fact of strictness of immi..I think I will end up getting nothing..this wait will not worth..feeling very frustrusted nd sad

  10. I just got my pr last week! Its been a very long process. It took me 1 year and 1 month. Good luck to everyone. I m not sure if the new changes affect 186/187 or only 457.
    Timeline. 10/3/2016 nomination and visa
24/1/2017 open file. New passports requested, svac and a document for nomination  ( don't know what).
    3/2017  nomination approved
    10/4/2017 visa approved
    Massage therapist.

At the end I had to follow up with immi if they received the new passports as MA hadn't uploaded my husbands. So I called them a few times Thursday and Friday to check and Monday I called them again to say that they had everything and they granted pr.

    congrats Gogita.. enjoy ur time
