  1. Thank you for your responses Bungo and Makybe. That is what I am confused about. But the consultant was not very reliable. So if any one of you have already received a positive assessment in 2016 with no condition to clear Statistics and Economics then it is likely I will get it to. So it seems there is no other option then to score 8 in all modules in IELTS to bring up my points. I think I should apply for an assessment and meanwhile retake IELTS. Which one should I go for CAANZ or CPA? CAANZ recently formed an MOU with ACCA so would that be a better option? Since my experience will not be counted Will I only get a qualification assessment or a combined Skill and Qualification assessment? Regarding Migration Assessment we need to submit university handbook/course outline. Not sure what is meant here? Like a transcript? Thanks
  2. Thank you for your response Makybe. May I ask what is naati? I am 25 yrs old so availing the highest points for age. I have an employer in Australia for whom I am handling accounts as an outsourced function here. He is willing to help out so I thought there might be a way for him to help out, other than issuing a work visa. I have already appeared for IELTS General and Academic. For General I Received 8 above in reading, speaking, listening but got screwed in writing at 7 so couldn't get 20 points there. How long does it take to get assessment from ICAA or CPAA? I consulted a lawyer in my country and he says I will get a positive assessment for education but I will still need to clear some Stats and economics course to qualify fully? So I am again confused here. Will there be such a requirement?
  3. I also read somewhere in the posts here that CPA Australia considers experience after the 9 out of 12 papers are cleared. Seemed to good to be true.
  4. Thank you guys for the prompt response. Are there any other ways to increase the points. Like having a job offer? or having someone sponsor from Australia something of that sort? What would be the criteria for these? I was thinking of going to go for a Masters in Oz but since accountants are flagged im afraid by the time im done studying accountants will be off the list and i will not be able to get a PR even then. What do you suggest?
  5. Hello, I have been searching a lot but couldn't find answers so I decided to post a thread here. My Qualifications: ACCA Affiliate 2013 ACCA Member 2016 BSC in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes after writing thesis 2016 My questions: 1. Does this get me a positive assessment equivalent to a Bachelors degree? 2. Does the 3 year experience after becoming an Affiliate in 2013 till membership in 2016 will get me 5 points? Tricky questions coming up I am pretty sure they haven't come up before:) : 3. Along with a full time job (40 hours per week) I was working part-time as an accountant for another company (20 hours per week). question is: 1 year of full time job + 1 year of part time job (both going simultaneously) = 1.5 years OR ; 1 year of full time job + 1 year of part time job (both going simultaneously) = 1 year ? 4. Does working for 1 year remotely from another country to manage the accounts of an entity in Australia qualify me to get 5 points due to Australian employment? 5. Let's suppose all of the above do not work out I do not get any points for any experience, then currently I am stuck at 55 points. I can bring this up, by scoring an 8 in IELTS, to 65 points. Supposing my score is 65 points, how easy is it to get 5 points for state nomination? What are the likely chances of receiving an invitation at 65 or 65+5? Appreciate your help. I know the demand for accountants is tight so I just wanted to know before applying if it is worth spending time and money at this stage. Thanks
