  1. Decision ready 457 lodged 13th October Low risk country with wife and 2 kids. RFI to employer for nomination on 6th December (replied same day, oversight on DIBP's part). Nomination and visa granted 9th December. I applied off sure but entered Australia on an e651 tourist visa mid November while awaiting 457 decision. Working in Perth. Good luck to everyone.
  2. I'm not even sure that they're taking 7 weeks to allocate.... mine was lodged on 13th October (nearly 8 weeks ago) and i still havent heard anything... How do you know if your nomination has been accepted? My immi account now shows my employers name under the list of my family members who im ypporting on my 457. Does this mean the nomination has been accepted??
  3. Hi there. The exposure from medical chest xrays is limited and the potential adverse effects are often over stated. Furthermore, the risks of the xray to the feoutus are reduced with a chest xray (compared to an abdominal xray) and a sheild =ing mechanism is often used for pregnant women to prevent unessecary radiation from getting to the feoutus. What i'm suggesting is that you look in to the limited risks of chest xray exposure yourself with your wife before deciding to delay the xray. My understanding is that case officers will look at RFI cases after 28 days - and it may take longer if you suply the xray after this date. https://hps.org/publicinformation/ate/q10300.html http://www.public.health.wa.gov.au/cproot/1384/2/radiation_and_pregnancy.pdf
  4. Thanks Gary. You seem to have gotten lucky there. I submitted mine on 13th October and the 457 office advised me they were processing applications lodged from 11th October onwards from Monday... Hopefully not much waiting left
  5. Has anyone had their 457 issued this week? I'm now at 7 weeks + 1 day. LR, off shore decision ready application. .
  6. That is an amazing timeline. My MA has told me that 457 processing times vary according to which state you've applied to. I'll be in WA (apparently has the shortest wait of around 4-6 weeks). Is this true to other peoples experience? S
  7. Thank you Wei Shu, Having applied for the e651 visa - it was not granted straight away. I was asked for further information 24 hours later. Specifically, the CO wanted information of what i was intending to do in Australia, my specific travel intentions and confirmation that i was planning to leave Australia after my visit. I supplied the information and am now awaiting their decision to grant. Regards, S
  8. 7 Thanks for your prompt reply George! I'll send a note on my immi account so that my CO is aware that I still need my 457 visaid too! Many thanks,
  9. Hi, I've applied for a 457 visa with my wife and 2 kids as dependents. The visa nomination and visa were submitted on 13th October 2016. I'm hoping to start work in Jan 2017. I was hoping to organise a tourist visit to Perth with my family in November this year to explore WA before we settle there. I'm not planning to work during this trip. Would I be granted a tourist visa and admitted to Australia? Could being granted a tourist visa jeopordise my 457 visa application? Would I have to re enter Australia if my 457 was granted whislt in Australia? Many thanks for your help on this mater. Regards, Sheraz
  10. Congratulations! Wow, that's fast! Do you mind me asking which state you applied in? Good luck with the move!
