  1. Hello, Ive been looking for quite some time now and feel that the only ways I can approach the visas is to visit Australia and hope that someone can offer me a sponsored job temporary skilled 457. I have a BA hons degree in Interior design I have worked in various construction and civil engineering related drafting roles and was hoping to go down this route however I think I would fail the vetassess skills assessments on all possible anzcso codes Interior design - over 5 years since worked in industry, Civil engineering drafting only 1 year experience in last 5 years/ 4 years over 5 years previous, Architectural draftsperson 4 years over 5 years previous. My most recent employment has been as the director of a company but my degree doesn't match the job 3+ years in last 5 years. Is this the best way to tackle my issue to visit agencies or companies in Austalia and try to set up interviews or is it highly unlikely that getting a job via this route would arise. Everyone I speak to says I need to get a working visa before they will consider me (I'm 37). any ideas or do you think I'm fighting a loosing battle?..................
  2. I am trying to find out if i need skills assessment vetassess for (general Occupation) civil engineering draftsperson (CSOL) list. I can't see anywhere that states you need it. Just the odd reference to it possible being a request. Does anyone know if it is required. I managed to find the following • A 457 Skills Assessment conducted by a registered training organisation approved by Trades Recognition Australia, if required (more information can be found on the Trades Recognition Australia website). • If you were nominated in either the occupation Project and Program Administrator or Specialist Manager not elsewhere classified: a VETASSESS Skills Assessment for General Professional Occupations. You cannot use the results of a VETASSESS Qualifications-only skills assessment obtained for a Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa application. Neither of the above apply so I'm hoping my degree BA hons Interior design and Btec national diploma in design will suffice? I have 1 year experience within the last 5 years and an additional couple of months 5-10 years
  3. Wow i'm in the same boat. Im just applying to Civil engineering draftsperson with a ba hons in interior design and btec in design and also worried that the qualifications are not highly relevant. There is no real guidance on how relevant a qualification must be. I think that building technology and drafting are covered within the syllabus should be enough. I hope you can contest it?
  4. Struggling with this one......I have been trying to find out if I need to go down the vetasses (General skills) route for assessing Civil Engineering Draftsperson (CSOL). I can not see that there is the requirement for a skills assessment anywhere. Only that it may be required. I am looking to post a EOI and working at getting an employer to sponsor / nominate me. Is it ok to post an EOI for this visa without the vetasses skills assessment? I have found the following: • A 457 Skills Assessment conducted by a registered training organisation approved by Trades Recognition Australia, if required (more information can be found on the Trades Recognition Australia website). As it is not on the TRA list I guess I am exempt here? • If you were nominated in either the occupation Project and Program Administrator or Specialist Manager not elsewhere classified: a VETASSESS Skills Assessment for General Professional Occupations. You cannot use the results of a VETASSESS Qualifications-only skills assessment obtained for a Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa application. Also this does not apply! Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
