  1. Thanks Naomi, I have have looked ethicaljobs and seek.com.au. I will check out applydirect.com.au
  2. Hi AJ, Thank you for response. We are aware of size of area and also of different licencing processes for different states. We don't have any family, friends or anything else drawing us to a particular area hence we are struggling to pinpoint where to settle. We are thinking we are happy for 'where' to be determined by employment opportunities, ease of licencing etc....
  3. My partner and I have recently been granted a 189 PR visa. We are very excited, but also very aware the serious planning starts now! We are currently living in Swaziland, but hope to be in Australia in 3-6 months depending on the sale of our two electrical businesses. I am the 'POM' in the relationship, and my partner is the 'Electrician'! I am a highly skilled, solution focused, project management professional with over 10 years’ experience in community development, public health and youth work, working in the local government, NGO and commercial settings both in the UK and more recently, Swaziland. More recently, I have been working as bookkeeper come accountant come HR manager come manager come marketer for our two companies. However, I am keen to return to work in the not-for profit sector Any advise, suggestions or tips would be gratefully received! Thank you in advance
  4. Hugh has over 20 years of experience as a highly qualified and professional electrician (servicing the domestic, commercial, agricultural and industrial sectors). His expertise ranging from technical design, planning, supply and installation in all facets of the electrical industry (including low voltage, medium voltage (11KV), motor control centres, variable speed drives, air-conditioning and refrigeration), renewable energies sector (including PV systems, solar water heaters) and domestic LP gas installations. (To run a successful operation in Swaziland, given the tiny size of the country one must be a "jack and master of all trades" to coin a common English saying!) Given the big difference between the value of the Rand and Aus Dollar, we are very keen to 'hit the ground running'... Hugh has obviously passed the trade test, as part of visa application process, and wants to work as an Electrician in Australia but is aware he needs to get his A Grade licence. He has has been doing some online research as to what he needs to do, how long it take etc... We are also aware that licensing and regulations are somewhat state specific. At this stage, we are undecided where to settle in Aus... I guess we will end up in SE Aus, somewhere between Melbourne round to Brisbane - but we are very aware this is a HUGE area!!! Any advise, suggestions or tips would be gratefully received!
