my partner is currently on 457 (car mechanic), arrived in Australia in Oktober 2014 on Working Holiday Visa and started to work immediately in as a car mechanic. He changed his employer twice. He started to work for his current employer in March 2015, in July 2015 our 457 was granted. We would like to get PR. But are not sure if he is eligible for 186 TRT stream or DE stream yet. Question 1: For TRT stream he needs to have worked 2 years in the same occupation with their nominating employer. When are those 2 years completed: in March 2017- 2 years working for his nominating employer? Or in July 2017 - 2 years on 457? Or even in October 2016 - 2 years in the same occupation in Australia? Question 2: For DE stream he needs at least 3 years relevant work experience. Does the time of his apprenticeship counts as a relevant work experience? (he started his apprenticeship in November 2010, finished in February 2014, he working as qualified mechanic since then) Thank you in advance! M
