  1. Hi all, We are moving back to uk soon. My husband is an electrician and wants to ship his tools. Could anybody possibly give us some advice as to how to do this, what companies to use etc? We sort of need an idiots guide thankyou
  2. Ok thanks yes i was born in britain and lived there until three years ago. Will it be the same as what my husband did, he didnt even need to apply for citizenship he just applied for a first british passport? His parents were both born in england but not lived there since they were kids! he just sent off their birth certificates and had a british passport back to him in under 2 weeks!
  3. Hello everyone, I posted a couple of months back about my situation but I now have the following question that im worried about! Iam 6 mths pregnant, living in Aus with Aussie husband. Baby due in January, but we are thinking of moving to UK next year after baby is born. Husband recently got his British passport no problems (through descent). But I stupidly assumed the baby would be able to get british citizenship through me no problems but have since heard this is not the case! Im a total numpty! How would we all be able to live together in UK if baby can only have Australian citizenship? I would appreciate any advice or replies as i just dont know how this works?? Thanks
  4. Ok will look up an agent then maybe. Iam currently thinking that UK as country and UK address might be the right way to go, however I will be concerned then that it will go through as an offshore app! Also would it then look odd me later on in the app staying that I was living in Canada for over 2 years when I'd just stated that UK is my usual address? Argh
  5. Thanks snifter. Yes I do agree with you on country of residence and current address etc I was just concerned about it looking like I was lodging an offshore application as it appears to be the same app form for both 309 and 820. Will I be OK putting the UK and UK address then do you think? Even though I haven't actually lived in UK for over 2 years either. Have come from Canada where I was on working holidays. No no rush I've had to save and log off for tonight anyway to double check some other details. I just had a moment where I was stressed and puzzled and worried about putting the wrong thing.
  6. Hi ali thanks for replies. The 47sp asks for usual country of residence. Then the next question was to fill in your full residential address. So far I have put the UK as my country of residence. And put my current Australian address as residential address. However the side note explanation seemed to infer that one should be putting a residential address from the same country you have stated in your 'usual country of residence'
  7. I believe so ali. I went via this link and clicked the 47sp form. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Appl/Partner The elodgement page I have been filling in says this at the topApplication for migration to Australia by a partner
  8. How else is one to request quick replies please without stating quick replies please. I would have also thought a very fitting scenario for capital letter usage.
  9. I was very polite with my P's and Q's as always.
  10. We have just started to apply for an 820 onshore partner visa and struggling at the first hurdle. Iam a UK citizen currently in Oz on a visitor visa. Have got this question: Your usual country of residene: I was going to put UK but then it says in the side note that the residential address will also have to be 'offshore' then i.e uk address. But i want to apply for ONSHORE partner visa. What do i do? DO i put australia as country of residence and then also the australian address iam at?
  11. Thanks for replies. I've sorted the Canadian one. And also know how to order another one if this one expires. Just the UK one
  12. Thanks for the reply snifter. Yes I was thinking about using the UK address but I haven't lived in the UK for 2 and a half years. I've come over to Aus from Canada. Ok I was under the impression all checks had to be submitted at time of application?
  13. Hi I have just recently come over to Brisbane with my new husband on a visitor visa but he has been offered a good job and we want to stay and lodge a partner visa app. I need to get a police check from the UK but they need two proofs of address, obviously I can't get them for here as well I haven't been living here long and don't qualify for Medicare or anything I could get proof of address for.! I really dont know what to do! Anyone any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated right now Thanks in advance
  14. Thank you George. Yes well this is the problem! We were planning on applying from canada. It will be pushed for time though, as we need to apply for our marriage cert, receive that etc and leave canada by november. Will also have the problem of having to get the medicals done for it then in australia too, where i will have no health cover. We are looking at getting me a 12 month visitor visa for australia. I really dont know what to do!
  15. Hello, I'am a UK citizen and my husband is Australian. We have just got married. We have been living and met here in Canada. My husbands Canadian visa expires in November and we are looking to travel to Australia around that time. We are struggling to decide whether to lodge the Partner visa offshore from here in Canada, or travel to Australia (i can only travel there on a visitor visa) and then lodge it onshore. Can an agent possibly advise on our best course of action? Thank you very much
  16. This is a possibility but would we run into problems on the application as the marriage certificate would have new name,?
  17. Bungo The 'issue' is not having the time to change name In passport before we do visa stuff. As I stated in previous posts, please read thread properly. Thank-you everyone looks like i will.just need to keep my maiden.name for now.
  18. Okay. I was under the impression it was sort of illegal to do that. Okay we are going to Vegas tomorrow. When we get back we are going to seek a Australian migration agent here in toronto.
  19. What do you mean by 'half change' I don't have many other things to change. After we leave Canada I won't have a driver's license anymore, surrendered UK driver's when I got canadian one. We cannot apply onshore for partner visa. As I have no visa for Australia. I will only be travelling there on a visitors . This is correct?
  20. Thanks snifter. What would you suggest is best? I did want to take his name but will do whatever is the best. If I do take his name and can't get passport and everything changed in time, does that mean I won't be able to apply for visas? I'm not sure I I'm sounding really dense but everything to think about is getting a little on top of me now and giving me anxiety. I'm also fretting about the Medical for the Partner Visa. Will I have time to get that done in Canada? I heard they don't request it straight away
  21. Snifter Really? I would have thought any passport related things would take a long time. Doesn't it involve posting it off and waiting for it back/getting a new one? Mine is a UK passport and we are in Canada. We have time refraints as my fiance's Canadian visa expires in November and we want to get partner visa lodged before then from here in Canada. We are then planning on travelling to Australia
  22. But we we.are applying for the Partner visa pretty soon after we are married so won't have time to change name on passport?
