  1. Hi Guys,

    I just need confirmation.

I have been granted 187  visa in May 2017 through DE.

But unfortunately I have been made redundant last week.

Do I still need to stay and work in Regional area for 2 years or can I even go to Sydney and work there?

Is Canberra coming under Regional area?

Thanks for your help in advance.

  3. Hi Guys,

I received PR today. So happy

    187 DE HR 3people

    Visa & nom - 21/09/2016

    Nom granted - 30/03/2017

Add doc request - My son medical, AFP PCC

    Doc submitted - 26/04/2017

I sent email to immi two days ago to process my application and also I have just updated my postal address in immi account as I heard they usually go amend any changes if we make online. When they go to make amedment, if everything was okay, they probably grant PR. It worked for me.

I think thats what they did and received my PR today.

All the best for whoever waiting for PR.

    Thanks for your support guys.

  4. Hi Guys,

I have applied for nom & visa on 21 Sep 2016 with my husband. My son born on November added to the application later.

Nomination granted on 30 Mar 2017.

More doc requested our AFP certificate ( Though we are here about 10 months at the time) and son's medicals.

All submitted on 26th April. Just tried calling IMMI today, but they said to contact through MA.

My son was granted bridging visa on 4th April 2017. But IMMI still didn't take his application fees from our bank account. We paid our's through MA.

So I don't know when they will take application fees?

Has anybody gone through same situation?

  6. Sorry Dara,

I meant unpaid maternity leave. I don't think we will get any pay from Centrelink. It's going to be unpaid. I just got an email from HR that they will pay me 2 weeks at national minimum wage to help me out. That's all I get. May be talk to your HR if they can do you any favour. All the best for your new adventure.

I have same situation its hard to be on single income so will be back to work after 5 months as I am due next month nd m working still 7th nov so wanted help.. thanks again.. hope we guys hear something its been 13 months v r still waiting on ou Pr
  7. I don't think so. As I am on 457 visa, I am eligible to get 1 year unpaid maternity pay. As far as I researched we should not have any problem with our application.

Hi shanthsuren .. so that means it doesn't affect our application....and do we have to notify immi that we are going on maternity leave...??

    Nomination 27 April 2016

    Application 27 April 2016

  8. Any update 2015 sep guys? M worried how long will that take? Does anyone have idea or knowledge how much maximum time do they take to give decision? Plz help

    Hi Dara,

I am also in the same situation.

I applied for RSMS visa on 21st Sep. Will be going on maternity from 4th November.

My HR said that I can take up to 1 year unpaid maternity leave on my 457 visa.

My work place have no obligation for me to go on unpaid maternity upto 1 year.

But I am hoping to go back to work in May, as I can't afford to stay without income.

My MA said that when the baby is born, we just need to add the baby to the application.

If I get my PR by April, I may opt for part time.

    Hope for the best.

  9. Thanks for your reply.

No. He doesn't have reciprocal medicare card.

I heard people can apply for temporary medicare card if they have acknowledgement letter for PR application. Is that true?

    Regards

Does your husband have a reciprocal Medicare card too? If so, you can cancel your health insurance at any time. If not he'll need to wait until you have pr.
  10. Hi Guys,

I have applied for 187 visa today for me and my husband.

I already have reciprocal medicare card.

Can my husband apply for temporary medicare card so we can stop private medical insurance and save a bit of money.

What are the documents do we need to get temporary medicare card?

We have 457 visa until May 2020.I hope we will not have any problem travelling out of country.

    Regards

  11. Hi Guys,

I am going to apply for 187 visa. My employer is preparing nomination documents.

My MA asked me for my birth certificate, I do not have one from India. It is not possible to get one now.

I have other option to get a birth certificate based on passport from Indian embassy in Australia.

Shall I get that one or just ignore birth certificate.

Is BC necessary for visa applications?

    Kind Regards

  13. Hi guys,

I have been agreed to sponsor by my company for 187 direct stream.

But they will only pay for nomination, they asked me to fund rest by myself including application fees and MA charges as they have just funded me for 457 visa few months ago.

They want to use MA for filing nomination.

Can I just apply all by myself?

    Or atleast our application?

What are the documents do I need to prepare for start application.

    I have IELTS.

Can I able to use same health examinations which was done in April for my 457 visa.

Or do I need a fresh one?

And also what about NPC. I lived in UK for 7 years and before that I was in India?

How should I get NPC for those periods?

Is there anybody from India? Shall I ask my mum to get me NPC from India during those 3 years instead of going through Indian embassy.

Can you please let me know of all the documents checklist from myside.

So I can be ready soon to apply for the visa.

Thanks in advance for your information.

  14. Hi Yuan Zhou,

    Thanks for your reply.

My company is in Queanbeyan area of NSW.

I have IELTS score of 6 in each band and I am 30 years old.

I am hoping that I will be eligible for 187 visa.

I am waiting for the reply from my HR regarding her research with our company's visa agent.

Hope I should get approved for it.

    Thanks

  15. Hi Guys,

I have been following this thread for some time.

I was from India, worked in UK for my company for about 4 years which is an Australian based company.

They have requested me to take over a role in Australia as a Material Scientist.

I came along with my husband on 457 visa few weeks ago, then I found out that I am pregnant.

There is no parental pay or childcare benefits for 457 visa holders.

I did some research, and hopefully I can able to apply for 187 visa through direct entry.

I spoke to my HR and she is happy to sponsor if I am eligible for direct entry scheme.

I worked for this company for 4 years and 8 months in total.

When I completed masters degree, I joined my company and worked my way up from Research technician, chemical process Engineer and now Material scientist. I almost doing the same kind of job though my job titles were different.

    My questions are,

    1. Will I be eligible for direct entry scheme as I have more than 3 years for relevant experience after my post qualification.

    2. Do I need to complete skill assessment for direct entry scheme?

I do not want to wait too long if I am eligible to apply for 187 visa through direct entry scheme. My company has sponsored several 187 visas in the past, so it will not be issue for them if I am eligible.

Please give me your opinions on how I can proceed.

    Thanks in advance for y
