  1. Thanks for your response but that can't be correct.. If that were the case then you'd have a load of 17, 18, 19 year olds that are no longer able to live in Australia after coming over with their parents
  2. Hi I was hoping someone could help me. I'm 18 and have been on a 457 in Australia since July 2014 through my stepdad, I'm also here with my mum. We have until July 2018 but it's more than likely that we will try and get permanent residency before that time and if we don't then just get another 457 for 4 years. My issue is that my stepdad won't be able to get the permanent residency through work until February of 2018 (I believe you have to work somewhere for 2 year before they sponsor you?) as he has got a new job while being here just a few months ago. This would be fine however I plan to go backpacking in Asia in January 2018 and hope it will last until around July 2018. How would this firstly effect my standing on the permanent residency application and if that doesn't come about then the 2nd 457? Thanks
