Yeah I see that point, if you need to stay that far away from everything to afford a good sizes house and we have three kids so would need to a decent size then there's little point. I am thinking I could be two mins from the beach, work and schools and have a big house with a pool! If I had all that then it would be better than here. Living far out from all these things and long commute for my husband makes me think work / life balance would not be better. This is why I simple asked the question is it better, as I know millions do it and it works for so many. I was genuinely just interested in people options. Thanks

I whole heartedly accept everyone's opinion when they were actually answering the question. Yeah I did find some of the response just a dig and not helpful at all. It was not ment to be a drama just a yeah it's better for me because..... Or no I prefer the uk because...... Or a its not better just different. I'm not looking for love and war answers. Just personal options on it. Im glad you have found so much help and I have also. its seriously no big deal, just a question.

I disagree, is Australia better for you seems simple enough. The answers have been helpful when relating to that particular person. I'm not asking for every detail just a general yes no or indifferent.

yeah how long is a piece of string was not the question. Most people can answer from personal experience if life is better or not, relating to their personal circumstances. Others will agree it is no better or worse but just different. I was not looking for a perfect answer, just an honest one if indeed you choose to reply. Thank you for the insight x

I absolutely agree with that. As Iv said I'm happy here and no doubt could be there too. How people view it as being better or worse is very interesting. I don't know what anyone has left behind to make it better or worse but hearing life experiences is always interesting. On another note I feel looking through these forums it can all be negative and the same old few coming in with very high and mighty reality checks. People genuinely come on this forum as they are excited at the prospect of a new life in the sun and can be shot down for that enthusiasm. I am not suggesting life is perfect anywhere.

it is an honest reply which is all I asked. I obviously do not know anyone's life circumstances when in the uk so that is an invalid point. As Iv said if life is better in Oz I'd love to know why. If life is horrible, why? This is not by any means my bases in which to move to the other side of the world it is merely out of interest. My personal circumstances could be the same as a thousand others and different from a thousand more. I don't need opinios on what I should or shouldn't do, that I can decide myself. When Iv actually made the move and have something to share to help others I'll gladly do that.
