Congralulations Julie, I've been watching your progress for some time. We still have a long wait, but hopefully now they will start catching up, and our wait will get shorter.

  3. Headless chicken time folks!!!!! Request for 2nd VAC this morning, massive thanks to @Alan Collett and his team at Go Matilda!!! Off to the bank, never been so excited about spending so much cash, without anything tangible like a car/caravan etc to show for it at the end!

Bali next week, Sydney the following week start work! BOOM!!!!!!

Thanks to all who have helped and advised over the past couple of years!!

  4. Our shipping arrived this morning so will be spending the next week unpacking and wondering what possessed us to bring all this rubbish. But at least it will keep Linda happy going through the 8 crates of shoes and handbags, but I can guarantee she will still make a beeline for shoe and bag sections next time she's in Myer.

No idea what we're going to do if this visa isn't granted, one massive garage sale I guess.

Hi I'm interested like Alan, how did you manage to get furniture shipped before you have your 143 visa.

What shipping company did you use?

  5. Hi Lorraine

In the last week we travelled to Melbourne on one way tickets and we are on a 3 month tourist visa. No problems, no questions on entry. Having looked at the entry requirements before travelling it appears that if you are asked about onward travel then you should provide proof of sufficient funds to buy tickets. Hope that helps.

    Julie

Thank you Julie. Hope you hear from immi soon.

  6. Hi please can anyone that has been granted a 12 month stay e600 visitor visa, and are already out in Australia,

tell me if it is ok to go on a one way ticket. Then book ticket home when we decide to come back, as at this time we aren't sure.

Also I see when I've looked at prices, the flight dates don't go that far ahead to book a return ticket anyway.

  7. Hi, so far we have done everything on visitor visa, and only had to show either driving license or passport to prove who we are. We are paying 6 months rent upfront, which in a stalled rental market, added massive sway to our lease agreement! By the way, thats not my opinion of the rental market, this was said by 3 of the 5 real estate agents we met!

Thank You Alan, for your answer to buying a car. We have an e600 visa also. We are going to Queensland to join our family, miss them and our grandchildren so much, just hope we get granted our 143, to stay, still got a long wait for it.

  8. Quick update for those still in the waiting room. After 10 days in Perth we have secured a rental, and move in on Wednesday, purchased a small run about car, purchased a Nissan Pathfinder, bought new furniture, new white goods, ordered new phones & broadband, been asked to leave a beach in Scarborough, as we were walking our sons dog, on the wrong beach! yep been busy, but it also took our thoughts away from the slow moving IMMI progress

    Hi Alan,

Glad to hear your settling in to you new life, perhaps you could answer a couple of questions for me.

You say you have bought a car, can you tell me if your able to do that on a temporary visa and holding a British driving licence, and register it, and insure it in your name, before you get your 143 visa granted.

  9. Hello can anyone help,

we have been granted a e600 one year visa, and we are hoping our 143 visa will be granted within that year, and we would go off shore and then return to activate the 143 visa.

If the 143 took longer, can we extend the e600 visa on shore to then wait for the 143, and if so how long can we extend it for.

  10. Hi Lorraine

We had to have Oz police checks done because we had spent in total a year over the last 10 years in Australia. Adding up the days over the last 10 years, a month here, a month or two there. It soon adds up. I do believe you can get your medicals done in Oz too. I'm sure one or more of the lovely people on here will let you know if I'm wrong.

    Good luck

    Maisie

Thank You Maisie. All the best for your future in Australia.

    Hi Lorraine

I see someone has told you how to edit your signature.

Its good to see someone else with lodgement date around ours.

We can keep an eye on each other's progress or lack of it at this early stage.

We have decided to bite the bullett and sell up and go out in November on a 12 month tourist visa . We plan to travel around a bit before visa grant and enjoy those few months off work.

We know it's a gamble as there are no guarantees but just can't wait to get there.

    Keep in touch

    Lisa

    Hi Lisa

Yes will be good to follow one another's progress.

  12. Hi Lorraine , date starts from when you enter Australia but from what I remember there is a time line when you must enter the country. Been here now for 16 months on visa had to leave country to extend it . Was granted quickly, I had to have a medical but hubby didn't. You also have to show you have 12 months travel insurance . Hope this helps, we have to leave in May so enjoying our last few weeks here, good luck Lorraine 

    Hello HarrisL16

Thank you for your advise. Must be hard for you to leave after all this time.

Our plans are to go and live with our family, after we have every thing here sold and sorted i.e furniture in store.

Then hopefully when we are told to pay the final Vac money, we will go off shore while our 143 is granted.

I know it's a risk, as there's no guarantee that immi will grant us our 143. It's a risk we are prepared to take.

    Lorraine
