  1. Thanks for everybody's help. Think we are aiming to come over September time instead if christmas. Will help to get the little people settled & hopefully a few friends to spend a bit of time with over the holidays Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  2. Brilliant Cal, i'll keep my eyes peeled for the uniform page. That would be a massive help to us especially with an ever growing daughter & soon to go to school son. Everybody has been so helpful on here, thanks Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  3. Bril thanks everybody. We are on PR visas so have heard that childcare can be subsidised. We relie on grandparents over in the UK for helping with holiday cover, so its something to factor in our budget planner. Hoping that the little people with make friends and some will go to holiday club as well. What a fabulous idea having 2nd hand uniform shops, my daughter grew so much last year she had 2 lots to see her through the school year? Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry i don't think i've explained it too well. I know what i want to say in my head but its hard to put it into context ?. Intend to send the kid(s depending on when yougest would start), to school as soon as we can when we arrive. Just wondering if we arrive September (without sending daughter back to school in uk) if there would be any holidays that would need to be covered apart from the big christmas holidays. We are both planning on working (wife part time like she does in uk), just trying to budget any extra costs. Good idea about 2nd hand uniforms shops especially seeing as daughter is really tall for her age. Want the kids to make friends n feel settled as soon as possible when we arrive that will hopefully help us to make friends too with other parents. Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  5. So i am right in thinking the school year starts in February in Oz?? We either move in September from the Uk which means not returning to uk school in the September and starting in oz school near end of year (which we don't or mind n little guy gets 6 months more to adjust to starting school) or moving over January and starting the school year in Uk but only for 12 weeks, then starting afresh in Oz. Also my littke guy would start school September 2018 in Uk but February 2019 in Oz from what i understand. Sorry hope i'm making sense, i know what i want to say but its difficult to interpret correctly ? Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  6. Anybody help out with a school year time table?? Like in UK, school year starts September til July of the following year with half term in October, christmas, February, easter and then May. We are looking at our daughter finishing her school year in the July then moving over in the September. We don't really want to send her back to school for 12 weeks until Christmas as well as our little boy starting reception class, and having to pay out for uniforms etc, to have to start all over again in Oz & paying out again. We'd rather finish her school year & not send her back or start our little boy in school to do it all over again in Oz. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  7. We used Kay at migrate abroad. Can't speak of her highly enough. She is brilliant. Ours was a complicated case n we've got our PR visas. Can't wait to sort out the move Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  8. With our rental budget we are looking around middketon grange, kellyville, etc with working in a industrial area around the same. Don't really want to work in sydney itself if we can avoid it as we're nit big city people Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  9. We don't want to be in the city of Sydney we want to be in the suburbs Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for the help Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  11. Do u know the names of any of the face book groups?? Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks Captain. We would only have one car for quite a while so if i can commute by public transport then my wife would be able to have the car for getting the little people to school. (2 n 7 at the mo). We were drawn to Middleton Grange as it has new build houses at reasonable rent. Have u heard anything about this area?? Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately we wouldn't have the funds to be able to Airbnb for any length of time. We will have to wing it as well Captain Roberto ?. We are looking further out and not really planning on working in Sydney but in areas further out ie industrial areas for companies etc. Sutherkand Shire has popped up a few times so think this is one to add to the list. We will have the rent from our UK until we decide to sell then will have a decent lump sum to buy in a few years. Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  14. We are looking at NSW as that is were the PR visa cane from. It was a state nominated visa. Our prefered area is Perth, due to having family there for 35+ years but we only got our visa as state nominated from NSW. Lookig on seek there are quite a lot more jobs in my field of work (graphic design/digital marketing) in Sydney compared to Perth. We are a little worried that if we don't go to the state that sponsored us it could have an impact when we apply for citizenship. As you are meant to go to the sponsor state for 2 years. We don't want to go to NSW for 2 years, get the kids settled into schols then move to WA. This is why we are researching. Our budget is around 600 aud max a week for rent so we need to look further afield. My wife is looking to work part time, shes has done admin in NHS for the past 18 years but will do anything within reason to help with the money side of things. Looking on seek there seem to be jobs around different suburbs, this is why we are looking further afield Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  15. We know its a large area. We just want areas to look at to get ideas of schools, rental budgets etc. We know it will be dependent on work but we need to research to give us an idea of costings, accessibility to schools, shops etc. We only have limited time in which to do this in, so just asking advice to narrow down the areas. Nothing is set in stone but obviously as in the UK some areas will be better than others Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  16. No idea yet. Just want to research areas to get a short list, Due to needing school etc. Don't want to keep uprooting kids to different areas n schools etc Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  17. We got our 190 pr visas at the beginning of July for NSW. We are coming over in February 2017 to active our visas n research areas etc. Has anybody done this that could give us an idea of areas to look at. We have 2 children (2 & 7 years) so need an area thst is family friendly ie eating out, playgrounds, sports actitives etc. Good areas for shopping both food and clothes wise. Good schools etc. We have a couple of areas we would like to look at ie Hills area & and middleton grange/ Carnes hill area. Just wondering if there are other areas that we have over looked that we should consider. Many thanks Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  18. No its 60 days to apply for visa once you get ur invite Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  19. Not at all. Everybody's length of wait will be different. That was how long it took, just our experience. Not getting any body's hopes up, just saying that it may take a little while long than anticipated. Like stated earlier things change all the time. A job not on the list now could appear months down the line. Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  20. And there is a demand for my job in the area hence the visa! Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  21. If u had read correctly the EOI, was submitted 2015. Things change all the time. Just trying to say it could take a while to hear anything. Now got visa!! Theres always somebody who will trample on other peoples dreams.!!! Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  22. We waited 12 months for invite with 70 points with 5 state sponsor points on a 190 pr visa Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  23. Following on from our post in May 2016 we have been through all the stages. Had the last part ie medicals in middle of May. We are no just waiting a final decision to say yayy or nayy. Our agent has told us it will be between 2 n 6 months til they make a final decision. Anybody else been in this position n tell us how long they waited for final results. The not knowing either way is sooo hard Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
  24. Can i follow please as we will be relocating to Sydney from the UK & Kellyville is one of the areas we are looking at. We will need a school for our 2 children. One of each. Many thanks Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk
