Hi. I'm currently a temporary resident on a defacto visa. Our relationship isn't going well but I'm pregnant so need some advice on what future options I had to return to Aus with my baby if I left before it is born. Ive been told that if I stay and my baby is born here I will need dads permission to ever take it back to the UK. I've therefore been thinking about giving up on my current visa and going back home before the birth. I want to know where this might leave me in the future if I want to come back so that the baby and dad can have a relationship. Obviously if I came back I wouldn't be getting in a relationship with the dad but I'd want him to have a relationship with his child. Does anyone know if this would even be possible, or would only the child be allowed to return?

Hi. I've been living in Aus for almost 3 years and I'm currently on a 820 defacto temporary visa. I applied in May 2014 so around 20 months ago. My partner has just informed me he isn't happy and isn't sure we should stay together. To complicate matters we have just found out I'm pregnant. We might end up staying together and working through the issues but I really wanted some advice. If we were to break up now (only a few months shy of getting 801/PR) would I be immediately deported despite the fact I'm having his baby? or given the circumstances does anything think the PR might be granted anyway? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
