Thanks for that. I have noticed i can apply for a temporary contributory parent visa with which i can then apply for a permanent cont parent visa once in OZ. would you know whether this would give me any benefits over just applying for a Permanent Contributory Parent Visa? Thanks

Hi all. I'm moving over to Daisy Hill in April. I have a grandchild on the way and I'm hoping to be his carer whilst my daughter goes back to work. When I've stayed in the past anyone I have struck up conversations with have ended up being British. Whilst in Oz I do miss the UK ways of socialising. It would be lovely to be able to form a friendship group when I arrive.

Hi all. I'm new to this and hoping to get some clarity. I'm going to Brisbane in April and will be staying in my daughter's granny annexe. My intentions are to look after my baby grandson whilst she returns to work. I understand I can apply for an extended holiday visa for a year. If I decide to apply for a parent visa can I do so from Oz? Also can I work with a parent visa. I'm aware it will cost me £20k plus and therefore would need to work in order to replenish my life savings and pay for any health care I may need in the future. I'm only 51yrs and fit and healthy...too young to retire just yet!
