Hi,
I did work as a groundsman or yardsman in a big caravanpark in the northern territory which was built up at that time with lot of investments by a millionaire. I did plenty of construction works. I had to install a new sprinkler system and maintain it. I regularly had to fix the pumps of the sewage tanks. I had to dig trenches and to do plumbing of the fresh water system. I had to do small carpentry works like building a door or making motel units ready for living. I had to plant trees, landscaping, small fencework, removing posts, lay bricks, organize toolsheds and repair tool and machinery, fixing toilets. But also I sometimes had to do non-construction things like dispose of the roadhouse rubbish and blow away tree leaves. But the owner also did send contractors like electricians and plumbers or concreters in the park. Sometimes I had to assist them and do site preparation for them.
My question is now is this work elegible as construction work for my second year visa? Or is my work not specified enough because the field of construction activities i did is so varied... And also some stuff was not construction work.
On my employment verification paper I wrote that I did residential building construction (maintaining and assisting the construction of the new motel units which were built there) and site preparation (removing heaps of steel, landscaping and ground preparation for construction workers).
What is the current process of processing of second year visas. Will the border office always call my manager or the owner of the park (number on employment verification form), or do they sometimes just grant it?
I also have another question:
I am currently in Germany but will go back in 1,5 months to australia and then i will still have 3 months left of my first year visa. I want to see if my second year visa gets granted before I reenter australia. So if it will not be granted i will use my 3 months left for farm work. (If my visa does not get granted I can then reapply with farm work or I am not allowed for lodging a second time?) After my first year visa is expired I want to go to Asia. So my question is: When I apply now outside of Australia and my Visa gets granted while I am still out of Australia and then I enter Australia and leave Australia just at the end of my first year visa, will then my second year visa automatically be activated and run while I am in Asia or will my second year visa not automatically be activated and be activated when I reenter Australia AFTER I come back from Asia? Or in other words is it possible to see if my visa gets granted and then enter Australia without activating my second year visa?
Best Regards,
NTRunner
