  1. Hi Everyone We are in the last stages of our 309/100 and i was just wondering...... My wife and her daughter (16yrs old) both have Australian citizenship. My son and I are both awaiting completion of our visas at this stage and then we are all off to Brisbane. Does my wives ex husband have to give permission for his daughter to leave U.K to move to Australia with us or can we just go to the airport and leave? He does not give any regular contributions towards her upbringing and rarely sees her. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Moderator comment: I've merged your two threads together since they are getting some related responses.
  2. Hi Everyone We are in the final stages of our 309/100 and have come across a problem, was wondering if anyone can advise please? My wife is due to go to London with her daughters Australian passport application on the 18th October ready for when we go but at the last minute, her father will not sign the passport application form!!! (Her daughter has Australian citizenship) Is there a way that her daughter can arrive in Australia with her British passport or is there a way we can apply to the local court to make him sign? My wife's daughter will be 16 when we go, and her father has pretty much nothing to do with her and certainly does not make much financial contribution towards the upbringing of her (£20 here and there but no regular payments) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the speedy reply Bungo
  4. Hi everyone My wife, her daughter, my son and I are immigrating to Australia as soon as mine and my sons visa is approved. My wife and her daughter have Australian citizenship already. They are both current British passport holders. I was wondering if it would be best that we apply for their Australian passports before we go or can they enter Australia on their British passports when we arrive? Thanks in advance
  5. Hi Sammy Thank you so much for the link. That's exactly what I was looking for. Kind regards Debbie x
  6. Thank you all for your expedient response, I started in secondary but my most recent years have been in primary which I feel more suited in. Having said that, my expertise is in behaviour SEN. Thank you again. (June 2017 is our move date, my mistake)
  7. Hi All. I am returning to Brisbane with my family in June 16. I obtained my bachelor of education as wel as master of education at Melbourne Uni in my early 20's. I have been teaching in the UK for twenty years. Can any tell me what sort of salary I would expect to be on when I commence employment. Many thanks
  8. Thank you all for the great advice we will be patient! The visa agent we are using told us it could take up to 14 months to issue this was only last week. Have done all we can for now. xxx
  9. Thank you so much for your reply. We are scheduled to move July 2017 as we have organised schooling for our two teenage children. If we are looking at 14 months for the visa to be granted this would definitely put us under pressure as we have organised schools for our children and are in the process of lining up work. Just wondered if there was anything we could do to take the pressure off. Many thanks again!
  10. Hi everyone We have just submitted my other half's partner visa with Visa Bureau. Can we get his medical and police check done before he is invited as we have been told the current processing time is up to 14 months. If so, how does he go about it? Many thanks in advance. Barry and Debbie
  11. Hi Everyone. I am a plumber by trade and am emigrating to Oz with my Australian wife and our 2 teenage children with a spousal visa. It appears quite a lengthy process to get your plumbing qualifications recognised in Oz, so thought of starting my own Handyman/home maintenance/repairs business when I get there (previously run my own plumbing business for 20yrs) Would this be possible to run your own business from when you arrive or is there some sort of waiting period? Are there any specific licences you need to obtain other than the obvious ones such as public liability etc....If anyone knows anything about this, I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks Barry
  12. Hi. I am a little confused as to what sort of visa you are thinking of "booking" along with a flight? The application process is normally lengthy and I would have thought that your visa would need to be granted before you go ahead and book a flight. Weather wise, there are many websites for holiday travel that you could take a look at, it depends a lot on where you are planning to go to as to what the weather is like for that time of year. Hope this helps
  13. Our advice is to let the dust settle. The conviction was in September which is the relevant date. Speak to a visa specialist first as once you have paid the fees for the visa there is no refund. You are young you have time on your hands. Good things come to those who wait.

  17. Yes £4250 for partner visa and £1740 for both our children. A further £1620 for the agent. Nothing for me as I'm Australian. Hooray!!! Thank you for your reply xxx Spent my childhood in Tassie and loved it all of my family are still there. I am looking forward to returning. Thanks again! x
  18. Thank you very much for your expedient response! We are investing over £6000 for the visa and have been told by the agent that we won't get a refund if the application is rejected. Many thanks for your advice. Kind regards B and D
  19. Hi to everyone! We have just gathered everything for our visa application. We are using an agent. We wondered how thoroughly our documentation will be checked as we haven't informed our employers yet. Is it possible they could be contacted as that will have an impact on our current employment. Also, the house we have been living in for the past couple of years is rented. Will our landlord be contacted? Any advice will put our minds at rest. Many thanks in advance. B and D :biglaugh:
  20. Thank you for your advice. We are booked on a seminar in February in London. Many thanks Debbie and Barry
  21. Thank you will look at the thread. One of the children is my stepson. His mother is deceased. Our situation maybe complicated as a result. I was brought up in Tassie and loved it!!!! Debbie x

  23. Great to see the news regarding your visa application! Congratulations! We are just about to apply for my partner's visa (I am Australian) just wondering who you used to process your visa, if anyone, and what advice would you give. We are taking our two teenage children with us. Kind regards Debbie and Barry
  24. Thank to everyone for your advice which was greatly appreciated! We have followed up on all of your advice. As we have 2 children the fees quoted to us today were £4000 per adult and £1700 for the two children being £5 700 in total. We can start the visa application straight away but will have to pay the full amount upon submission of the visa application. We are just wondering what would happen to the funds in the event that the visa is rejected? It is a lot of money to part with without the assurance that we will be successful in obtaining the visa. We are applying for the 309/100 visa. Many thanks
