I just logged onto my Immi account and it now says approved. I applied early January. Obviously happy but it says on the account your citizenship ceremony will be up to 6 months from the date you are approved so still a bit annoyed about that but at least the ball is rolling now

Does anyone know who sends the ceremony appointment? Is it immigration or the local council?

    @George8181

The ceremony is organised by the local council. They (local council) will send you letter by post or by e-mail. Some council organises monthly and some quarterly. If they have sufficient seat in next ceremony they will invite you. They generally say, letter will be sent 6 weeks before ceremony. But in my case it is really quick.

My approval in immi account  was on 7 Mar 2018

Got approval letter on 15 Mar 2018

But got the ceremony letter (by e-mail attachment) before approval letter i.e on 13 Mar 2018

Ceremony is on 28 Mar 2018

  2. Final Timeline
Application with two children: 24 Apr 2017 (Perth)
Test e-mail came to alternate e-mail address: 30 Jan 2018 (Received when I was overseas for 40 days 29Dec2017 to 9Feb2018 without informing DIBP)
    Test: 20 Feb 2018
Approved in Immi account: 7 Mar 2018
Approval letter: Not received yet (didn't check letter box today)
    Ceremony letter by e-mail: 13 March 2018
Ceremony date: 28 March 2018 (Kalgoorlie Council)

This e-mail has also come in my alternate e-mail address (not the one in which my immi acoount is set). Previous all communications (acknowledgment, money receipt, processing related – stop or restart etc.) were made in my main e-mail address. But test e-mail and citizenship e-mail were sent through additional e-mail address which I supplied in the application.

The content of e-mail sent by Kalgoorlie Council is as follows :

    Good afternoon,

Please find attached your letter for the 28th March 2018 Citizenship Ceremony.

    Thanks and kind regards

Three letters were attached in this e-mail for 2 children and me. My wife is waiting as she applied on 17 Jun 2017 in Perth and has to wait for another one and half months (approx).

  3. Applicants appear test centres conducted directly by DIBP and also by DHS (Department of Human Services like medicare, centrelink etc.). Those who appear in DIBP test centres, their approval is done straightaway; whereas, for DHS applicants, it is approved afterwards by a DIBP person on receiving data from DHS. Test centres link is available at

Hi I hope you get soon your approval letter.I saw in forum people saying we are not allowed to go overseas once we apply citizenship until we celebrate ceremony. So you don’t have any issues when you travel outside Australia

Immi  is informed automatically when you leave country from airport. I don't think,  they should be informed separately.

  5. Just waiting for the day. Saw in immi account and status is changed to Approved. Applied with my son (9 years) and daughter (8 years). Wife applied separately after 2 months.

    Test e-mail: 30 January 2018
    Test: 20 February 2018 (100%)
Approved in immi Account: 7 March 2018
    Approval letter: ?
    Ceremony letter: ?
    Ceremony:?

Was bit worried with delay in approval as we were in abroad during 29 Dec 2017 to 7 Feb 2018. Got test e-mail while in abroad.
Don't worry. Everybody will get test and approval soon. There is no pattern or no logic to follow. Just we have to wait. Thank you all for your valuable advises and experiences.

Hi guys I have a question when we apply citizenship online do we have to certified all documents and need to be sign by same person who sign in declaration form and attach certified documents to IMimi account. We have to attach old passports and entry year in Australia as well.

For online applications coloured scanned copies are sufficient. No need of certification. If you send by post, certified copies are required from JP or any other listed persons, not necessarily who has signed in declaration form.

  7. Congrats to you and all your family members. It is really a good and surprising holiday gift.

Again, WA and VIC is much efficient than NSW processing centre. It's really depends on one's luck to be allocated to which centre.

Thanks JanJanJan. Indeed surprising! Hope your turn will come soon.

  8. Hey @AKG Big congrats to you. Great news so you have a another reason to party hard.

I guess Vic and wa processing centre is the quickest. Whats ur occupation please

Thanks Jacob. Occupation is University Lecturer. Mine one was is processed along with the Nomination application. I'm lucky in that way. Hope you too will receive soon.

  9. I was late in rising up today morning and saw the e-mail box with lot of e-mails. I was surprised to see so many e-mails and opened the inbox to look only the much desired e-mails.... Guess what...

These are 4 PR grants for my little daughter, little son, wife and me.

I have not received the nomination approval from employer as today is weekend.

Nomination lodged on 27 Oct 2015 - most probably approved today

Visa lodged on 9 Dec 2015 - approved on today 23 Apr 2016

    No document was requested.

    Applied myself.

Overseas PCC was of Feb 2015 but I haven't updated as I haven't visited country since then.

Medical was done just after Visa application.

Thank you all for your valued feedbacks and experiences which helped me a lot in uploading the documents in stages.

Good luck to those who are waiting and wish you all 'll receive soon.

  12. Hi mate

I hv done my pcc in 2015 march, i have lodge my 186 visa in jan 2016. My MA told me to submit a new pcc coz it will take 6 months to open the file and by then my pcc will expire.

So i hv got another pcc done in jan 2016 before submitting the file

    Hope it will help

You have taken necessary precaution but your March 2015 pcc would work, if you haven't visited your country after that.

  13. I think you need to contact your MA about nomination. When you upload AFP, your PR will be grant straight away

As information (police clearance) is sought from you, so is the status. If you haven't visited your country after the date of overseas police clearance, you need not to worry about that. Only you need to submit Australian Federal Police (AFP) clearance again as it is most probably issued more than one year before. You apply tonight for AFC clearance and get it by next week to upload immediately and let them know with the team number in the subject line. I think on the very next day you'll get the Visa grant. Hope I could clarify you now. Mark and bennyluk also told you the same thing.

  14. Received email from DIBP with these below information:

"Please be advised that the above application has been recently allocated to a team for assessment. A case officer will be In contact with your agent should further information be required.

FYI, np-2012@gmail.com is not an authorised email contact for this application. No further update will be provided for this email address. Please refer to the authorised contact details for this application. "

Can you please advise below questions through your experiences for the above e-mail.

    1. Is it Auto e-mail or standard template ?

    2. How long does it takes to process the visa?

    3. Applications Status is still same in the IMMI online portal. so is there something wrong ?

    Thanks.

It seems, today is your turn . It may be standard template but not an auto-email.
