Thanks everyone for the replies!! It seems parramatta is the place to be then, I've been looking at apartments around the sydney Olympic park. They seem to be a lot nicer and modern. It's difficult moving to a place when you have no idea what it's like or what the area/location is like. One thing I have noticed is the price of the units! A lot more expensive than on the Gold Coast! 500-600 a week for the same standard you will pay 400 for here on the beach!

Thanks, do you know if parramatta has any sort of decent nightlife? I don't know how I am going to deal with travelling to the CBD for a good night out ha but it's for my work so the move needs to be done! Maybe a bit of quiet will do me good ha

Hi, I am moving to western Sydney due to a relocation from my work! My job will be located in Minchinbury, I currently live on the Gold Coast with my girl friend in surfers paradise, right in the middle of all the hussle and bussle. It's safe to say we enjoy our nightlife and love having everything we need right on our door step. I know it will be hard to find a similar suburb being so far from the city! I have no idea regarding any of the suburbs in western Sydney and wouldn't know where to begin looking. Where will be best place where there is still a good nightlife and enough to keep us occupied? I'm willing to travel 30 mins to get to my work. thanks
