Hi Captain, Good day sir! If I get a state nomination from Victoria, can I live in Melbourne with my relatives and still fulfill my moral obligations as well as any other legal obligations? Right now my points are still 60 with occupation 2613 (analyst programmer) which you predicted before may come in earliest in Dec but with the 65 pts minimum, its unlikely. I have a few questions then: 1. Would you think its a better choice to apply for visa 190 with SS to Victoria then? 2. You mentioned that visa 190 is also a permanent resident with the same rights/benefits as a 189. Does it mean after 2 years in my nominated state I can go to any other state or city outside of my nominated state? 3. Reiterating my earlier question about moral/ethical obligations as well as any other legal obligations if I live in Melbourne IF Victoria state sponsors me for 190. Thank you for clarifying this. I am also trying to do my own research but it really helps if I get pointed in the right direction.

Thank you for clarifying that. I guess the only difference is that you are stuck for 2 years in the state that sponsored you (not that that's a bad thing) if you have the SS and visa 190. Reason being I have family in Melbourne but not close family that they can sponsor me (2nd cousin and uncles). Anyway thanks again very much for your kindness and information Captain!

Thanks for the advice Captain. Just one last question and a bit of a n00b at that but, if I submit an SS side by side with my 189, and the SS got approved then does it mean I won't get a permanent resident visa and more of a working visa limited only to the state I applied for?

Thanks for the info Cap! Hopefully mine goes out in November or early December even though I only have 60. Otherwise I'll look into getting an SS to bump it to 65. Hope this is not a bad idea though...

Hi Capn', Can you help to predict mine? 261311 Analyst Programmer 60 pts EOI date of effect: 27 July 2015 I read that for my ANZSCO code they raised the minimum pts needed to 65pts is it true and if so, any chance it would go down again to 60? Thanks!
