I shouldn't think that Wattamolla would be, it is quite a way out in the Royal National Park. You might be able to get to Jibbon or one of the other beaches in Bundeena. You'd have to get the train from either Bondi Junction (I don't think that is far from Randwick) or Central to Cronulla on the Illawarra line, and then there is a little ferry from Cronulla to Bundeena. The beach that is near the ferry terminal is called Hordens beach. That one gets a bit busier, but it is still lovely. Jibbon beach would be a 10 or 15 minute walk I guess from the ferry terminal.
thank you very much for the info

My favourites are Wattamolla (there is a lagoon there too, which is great with the kids), and Jibbon beach in Bundeena. It is lovely and calm for a swim and usually quiet, except on sunny weekends or holidays like Boxing Day.
I don't have private transport going to these beaches- are they accessible by bus from randwick?

Beaches like Clovelly with no surf are ok on the sand. Can you swim? You would still have to be careful of deeper water or sudden waves
ah i like the beach but i can't swim at all...
-
which of these beaches are good for paddling? i don't like big waves, so which beach has no big waves (if there is any?)

Also the Asian supermarkets are good for big bunches of green veggies, herbs etc, at pretty low prices.
Asian supermarkets - are they everywhere coz I like my rice.... I'm now thinking of Paella (seafoods from sydney fish market)

Nice! I'm excited now- it says "SFM retailers are open from 7am every day, till 4pm Mondays - Thursdays and till 5pm Fridays - Sundays, except Christmas Day".

Plus of course you can catch your own if you feel so inclined.

You don't need registration for a visa..you just need it if you want to practice as a nurse in aus
are you still referring to PR visa? how do I do that, what route? please share the info?
-
And after 2 years on a 457, you don't need a skills assessment either if you are being sponsored for the same role you have been working in.
You don't have to wait 2 years though, if you have a positive skills assessment. You can go for PR on your own at any time.
i just received my 457visa, hopefully will be able to start in January. So as you say if one has got positive skills assessment one doesn't need to wait for 2yrs and can go PR on your own--meaning which visa route?
-
We recently got our PR, were from 457 too, the way i understand it if your sponsoring company in 457 after 2 years will sponsor you again in PR then you will not need to pass 60 points but if you will apply it indepedently like we do because our sponsoring company did not sponsor us to PR so our option is visa 189 and 190 which are both permanent visa and need to have at least 60 points, we choose 190 state sponsorship to get an extra 5 points and my husband got 60 points, we waited 11 weeks for our visa grants.
Hi, just got my 457 and hoping to start on January. So it's you said your present employer didn't sponsor you for PR, the options are 189 and 190visa- do you need to sit for An English test even if you are british?
-
Hi everyone,
i have a question? Has anyone got there PR and moved to oz and then got there registration?
I have my PR and am currently doing a PGDip as my diploma isn't enough for registration.
If so how long did it take?
Did you discover any problems?
We want to leave as soon as I have finished this course but I don't want to get there and be stuck for months while waiting for it to come through.
Any suggestions on help or advice would be great thanks
hi Katy,
how ow did you get your PR without the registration?
-
I just had my 457 approved today- no you do not need the UK police clearance as they will not ask you but i have applied for one as my employer had asked for it.
-
which one is better do you think- public schools or catholic schools? what's the difference apart from of course the other one has i pressure got religion subject.
-
Ah so not that far then to Coogee and Bronte- but I have a 7yr-old, what is the road like- is it cyclist-friendly?
-
Yes you will pay $5k up front each year because you're only temporary and NSW charges. You might do it a little bit cheaper if you're Catholic with a strong commitment to a religious education for your child but then it will be around the $3k mark. Temporary visas aren't great for families.
Thanks for the reply- the $5k per year is that public school or private school (not-religious school)?

Yes in the UK roads are not that wide compared here in Oz. But good thing there is they don’t blow horns unnecessarily- only to alert you if you nearly cause an accident. There they respect queue- if you’re in a traffic and you made mistake say you are supposed to be on the left lane so you signal, as it was “sort of your fault” then you wait patiently to be given the way to safely “insert” if they won’t give way then you wait. But here, when drivers signal left they move straight away to the left and if not given way they get angry it’s as if when they signal it is their right to be given way.
And because roads are not wide enough there they are always mindful of other road users- alone or not.
Apologies- just giving my observation.
