Castling

We are about to have all our worldly possessions shipped over to Perth [emoji51] and for some reason have LOADS of vacuum pack bags. We have had mixed messages about whether to use them or not. One removal company said yes the other said no- you could get mould due to items sweating inside the plastic.

What did anyone else do? Anyone had experience or advice about this? Just thinking it could save us money with the space!!

Generally I just take a power board from the UK, and change the plug on that. Saves a lot of hassle and any warranty violations. Or, you can plug the power board into an adapter if you don't want to mess with re wiring.

Hi, has anyone been advised to remove all UK plugs from their electrical goods before they pack them up? That’s what John Mason advise before shipping.
 
I was just going to get them re-plugged (is that even the term?!) once we arrive, so that we can use things and get them converted at our own pace.
 
Anyone had any experience with this?

Hi! I had to get my letter redrafted by my university about 3 times as AITSL kept requiring more information. One thing they asked for, but never mentioned in their original information was for a breakdown year by year of how many days I completed and with what age range.

I am not sure about the age range difference that you stated. You can always email them to check. But our school ages are different so surely they come across this with a lot of people who have graduated from British Unis.

Contact the nursing body in Australia and ask who could do this for you in the UK. there should be an equivalent list. If solicitor is on there then negotiate with a high street office for  a bulk signing with you providing the copies.

This is a very specific ask and I am not sure if I have put it in the right forum, but here goes. 

I have my 189 visa and I am moving to Perth. I am a teacher. To teach in WA I need to apply to the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA). I have done that from the UK. But. And this is the big but where I am drawing blanks- I need an Australian citizen to certify my documents  who is registered to work in their profession in Aus from the list of occupations on this document: 

I live in the NE of the UK. If I go to the embassy in London they charge £41 per document!!! I need about 10 docs certifying! Which is unaffordable and unrealistic. I can’t wait until I am in Aus as there is a time limit, and I will not be there within the time limit.

So I am reaching out to the community to see if anyone has contacts with an Australian citizen living in the UK who can certify some documents for me!! ???

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone been through this? What did you do?
