  1. Hi All, I'm in the process of completing my online application and I have a few questions that I hoping someone can help me with... 1. Do you think it's best I write all 1000 words in each box about the details of 'our relationship'? (That would be 5000 words) I'm at around 800 for each question, but I am also going to upload a stat dec. 2. One of the last questions is causing me nightmares!! Have any of the applicants visited any countries for less than 12 months in the past 10 years? Yes, lots and lots! Many that I cannot remember of and my passport is relatively new. I also did not book all of them so don't have all of the details and some have been deleted. The online form requires exact dates too. If any of you have experience of filling this form in or any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm also annoyed with myself as I have already gone ahead and done my medical - now after reading posts, I'm sure I'll have to do it again due to processing times. Thanks in advance, Holly
  2. Thanks for the helpful replies. I am now feeling more positive! I will apply for extension with plenty of time. Really appreciate the time folks take to read and write back to me!
  3. I know it's not permitted and would not cause problems with strikes at the school etc. I will work 6 months and hope for an extension to be granted, if it's not I will not work any longer that what my visa states. I'll need to look into holidays counting towards this.
  4. I'm hoping someone has heard of them. From what you write, we may be able to do it ourselves. I'll need to really think about it and look into it carefully. Not sure if we've got as much evidence as you as we didn't need to name drivers on our car insurance in the Dominican Republic (where we lived) and our salaries were paid into our individual account and we just transferred money into joint acc. Also, we don't have statements from the account as it's closed but we got the bank manager to write a letter confirming we had the account together for a year and a half and we now have joint bank accounts in Australia. Most of our evidence comprises of letters/ bills at shared address, joint bank acc, letter from the school that we were employed together, heaps of travel itenaries and photos, invites, cards... We'll also look into registering our relationship as I'm sure victoria does that. Thanks again!
  5. I may have the links but could you please forward just in case. Thanks
  6. Thanks for taking the time to write a helpful reply! Leaves me feeling rather positive. We've been together for 3 and a half years and have lots of secondary evidence for the whole duration of that time. We have lived together for 3 years but our rent and bills were paid for by the private school we were working for, which is unfortunate for our evidence! We have however got a letter from the school explaining that. We've also had joint bank accounts for a year and a half and correspondence with the same address for about the same length of time. From the advice given from the migration agent we met with, we are going to get a will sorted and I am going to contact pension dep and medicare for evidence that I have my partner down as next to kin as seemingly that helps - did not know I could do that.
  7. Thanks Sammy. I am considering doing this. My situation not too tricky...but it's a daunting process. My partner did his own skilled visa, but from what I understand of the partner sponsored visa they are a nightmare!
  8. Thanks Joy. I am trying to find out as much info as poss. They have a no win no fee visa, but there's probably some hidden small print?!
  9. Thanks for your reply. I have heard of it being done too, but I have also heard of them being much stricter and tax office sharing information. Don't want to be caught out. If it comes to it, I'll work unpaid for a month.
  10. Hi, just wondering if anyone has requested to extend their 6 months work with one employer? I am currently on WHV until end of September, when my BVA will kick in as I have applied for partner sponsored visa. I am a teacher and I would like to take a year's contract beginning 27th Jan, 6 months would take me up to 27th July. Minus 4 weeks holiday, I would need to be allowed to work for an extra month. I have heard about form 1455, filling it in, getting a letter of support from school and taking it to department of immigration in person. I could possibly also explain that not working would leave me in financial hardship too...? Any help or advice would be welcomed. Obviously, I want to abide by the rules and do not want jeopardise my partner sponsored visa. Thank you!
  11. Hello everyone, I am applying onshore for my partner sponsored visa. I understand it's a lengthy, difficult and EXPENSIVE process so I am considering using an agent. Has anyone used them or know anyone who has or can give me advice? I have met with Australian Skilled Migration ASM, but I can't find any reviews so I'm nervous about parting with the fee of $3000 (plus gst) on top of the visa cost. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
