  1. The large pile of stuff ready to load into the movecube is growing, and we've calculated the value of everything to sort out insurance for the stuff that's being shipped - but what do people normally do about insurance cover for the stuff they're carrying on the flight - as our belongings will contain lots of camera equipment, a pricey bike, several laptops, phones, tablets, and a fair quantity of clothing we expect it will actually be worth more than the value of the stuff we're shipping - will normal travel insurance cover this? Thanks,
  2. Updating this post for anyone else who finds it and is in a similar situation. My Partner visa was ready to grant while I was on holiday in Australia. it all worked out fine - I just got an email asking me to let them know when I was leaving the country - the visa was officially granted by the time we touched down in London on our return flight.
  3. That's what I wanted to hear! I should have several weeks notice, so it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks!
  4. I may not have explained my question well enough. I have a good idea of the length of time for shipping. To phrase the question another way. On average, if I were to book today, what is the earliest date I could book for my stuff to be collected?
  5. I have a visa sorted and I'm currently job hunting. I'm trying to work out the timings of everything after I get an offer, and when I can volunteer to start. Can anyone advise how long (roughly) after booking a movecube (or any shipping) I could have my stuff sent?
  6. I got the number wrong, it would be the 309. We're getting married before we move (but confusingly in Australia) The 820 would require us to be in Australia during application, which we're not (except for the wedding)
  7. Haven't yet got a CO, but will let them know. Leaving early may be challenging because of the wedding dates, but I assume they can just delay the grant of the visa anyway. I very much doubt they will be granting it at that point anyway as it would be a very quick processing
  8. I've lodged my application for a partner VISA online (currently still in 'application received' state), but we're planning to travel to Australia for a few weeks before the VISA is granted for a holiday (and to get married). We'll be returning to the UK for a few months then before (hopefully) the partner visa is granted. Whenever I've visited before I've got an eVisitor - and I assume that the same will work again - but is there anything I need to be aware of, given that I already have an application in progress? I saw some stories online of people who'd inadvertantly cancelled their visa by applying for another one? Has anyone done this before - is it safe? Thanks,
