  1. The dynamics are different. His aim is to get PR and eventually passport. For that, he has 2 options, accept job offer in aus and then after getting in Aus, start PR process. but if being in aus doesnt increase his points then he is standing at 65 to 70 max for accountatns and that is difficult to get pr for canada he meets all requirements but ielts. so as soon as he clears ielts he can apply pr and will take around 7 to 8 months to secure pr and then he can search job in canada on basis of PR
  2. Yes, 2 years work visa. He is still waiting for formal offer letter after which he will get to know exact visa type he will be getting But one thing for sure that he will have to complete 5 years after getting PR. Further, being in Aus wouldnt facilitate him in any aspect for PR. right? and with every coming day, accountants are in red zone for PR. In that case your guidance is in right direction
  3. hi guys hope all are fine i am asking on behalf of a friend who is sort of in middle of situation he is accountant and secured job interview in one of accountancy firms in aus for which he is positive to get an offer they have told him to give him around 2 years work visa and then extend it on basis of performance. on other hand, he can apply.for canadian pr after clearing ielts, his all other requirements for pr are met Now what are pro and cons for aus vs canada I mean if he goes for aus. it might take him 6 to 7 years for nationaility however in canada 3 years after getting Pr accountants are getting tough time in aus overall. another red flag what other factors can be put on table to decide.pls advise
  4. How is 4 year defined ? Does it mean, 365/365 days in a year person should be in oz ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  5. Okay. So Visa is for 5 years, If a person wants to leave oz temporarily, he will be ok. no RRV is needed, but if he can't complete 4 year tenure out of 5 year n now wants to leave oz temporarily, he will be needing RRV, right ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  6. And do same rules for citize ship apply if one goes for state sponsored visa in which guy is granted 5 points for occupation on Sol list, if i am nt wrong ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  7. So here i am summarising what you guys have just said "Once a guy is granted PR, he will have to visit OZ in 12 months of police check or medical, and once reached in OZ, he will be granted citizenship on completion of minimum 4 years. If he wants to move out of Oz within this period of 4 year, he will have to arrange RRV Visa. If he don't want to go out of OZ, he is pretty much ok with Visa. Right ?" What if guy go for RRV Visa, what implication will this have on his citizenship period. Simply his "non-aus" will be deducted from total period. is it ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  8. Under 189, we have to be personally present in Oz for 4 out of 5 years to claim citizenship, right ? What if after obtaining visa 189, we don't have immediate plans to move to OZ and decide to move after 2 3 years to oz. What impact will this have on our citizenship claim status ? We will have to renew visa after 5 years ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  9. Hello guys, I have been researching as to different test options available for immigration purposes. During my research, i came across concerns raised by different candidates including Englishman as to fairness of IELTS where they suggest that there are better chances of moderate scoring in PTE Academic as compared to IELTS. But unfortunately, there is no PTE A test centers in Pakistan. so i am confused regarding alternate approach i can adopt in the given circumstances. Three tests are appearing on Australian DIBP website: - IELTS - PTE A -TOEFL I want to ask what chance do Toefl stands against IELTS What one is better for scoring. Guys with experience are welcomed to share their thoughts. Thanks.
  10. Hi guys, I am accountant by profession and searching these days for different immigration options available to me. My profile is as below: Age points: 30 English language points: 20 (i have yet to take test but i am aiming at 20 points) Education: 15 It makes them 65 points Q1: I want to know are there any harm if i go for state sponsorship ? Are there any statutory bindings if i go for it ? Q2: I have cousin living in Melbourne. Can he sponsor me and are there restrictions on maximum guys a person can sponsor.?
  11. So what I presume from your comment is that for accountant category to be succesful, it has to be 70 points minimum. It's good to know you are from big4. Would you mind to share your experience as i am interested in knowing how did things go for you being part of big 4. Mean were you experienced from big4 before you landed in Australia ? n did yr prior exp helped u in securing a role in oz in big 4 ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk

  13. Yeh, during my research of the process, i have came across the fact that accountancy field is not meeting the demand supply catch in oz. I want to ask whether it is related to some specific occupations or all occupations relating to accounts and taxation have been flagged for removal ? or in other words can i get link of list that are most probable for removal from SOL list. What do u suggest in that case. What one should do ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  14. Hi guys, I am currently pursuing Chartered Accountancy in Pakistan and currently at final stage. I had been affiliated with Big 4 accountancy firm for last 3.5 years out of which 3 years relate to external audit. I am currently confused as to future move and need some guidance as to job and career move. I have plans to relocate to Australia after completing education so i want to take conscious decision. As per SOL list, following occupations are available to accountants, 1). Accountant (General) 2). Management Accountant 3). Taxation Accountant 4). External Auditor 5). Internal Auditor i). For this, job i undertake should fall in any of the above list to file for immigration. Right ? What if my recent most experience doesn't fall in any of the above list, Will my application for immigration be considered if i ignore or don't claim irrelevant experience? ii). How do they evaluate their experience relevant to occupation. For accountant (general), i mean, what kind of experience is considered relevant to Accountant (general) occupation ? ii). What if i join Manager taxation post in Big 4, will I then be able to apply under Taxation accountant category for immigration? or Australian taxation practice is necessary for the occupation ? iii). As CA is Pakistan based degree, i am also considering to complete additional course/ degree that is better suited to Australian job market requirement. i have following options (based on MOU's entered into by ICAP): a). CIMA-UK b). ICAEW-UK If i undertake any of these degree, will they be acceptable in Australia, keeping in mind that they are UK based degree ? Thank you.

  16. I am new here. Can you direct me to one so that i can discuss issue with him. It's urgent
  17. One of my uncle, who resides in Dubai and is on short visit to Pakistan, met several consultants in respect of probable immigration procedure as he is looking for immigration to Australia. The profile is somewhat as follows: Age : 41 Qualification: Chartered Accountant (will get 15 points for that under Bachelor degree equivalence) Post qualification experience: 14 years. We met three agents in total. Two of them placed serious concerns on job experience and what is required by him to prove his experience. Currently he is working as Financial controller for past 7 years at renowned retail chain. One of the consultant raised the issue that is Financial controller equivalent to financial manager. My uncle said that yes Job description (JD) is more or less the same. Agent replied I WANT YOU TO GET LETTER on company's letter head being "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN" letter that you are financial manager (although he is financial controller now as company had recently revised the job titles although his JD is same). and he said i want you to ask company to write down your JD which will be same as that of Finance manager, only then i can pursue your case, otherwise not. So he is deeply concerned and think that he cannot pursue with the case of immigration. Although i am having hint that he is misguiding us. Please explain the situation. a). What will be required of my uncle to prove his experience with the company. (He can only make company to issue him a letter, in which his tenure with company will be disclosed and title. i.e. Financial controller from 1-jan-2001 to 31-dec-2013 etc.) b). If he is FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, what ANZSCO code will suit him best. c). Will he be required to get experience letter from all the companies where he worked. Some of them might not even know him now. then what ?
  18. Guys currently i am pursuing CA - final exams and as of now i have pre qualification experience of 3.5 years as per qualification requirement as follows: i). 6 months experience as tax assoicate. ii). 3 years experience as external auditor. I have following queries: a). Does assessing bodies consider pre qualification experience for the purpose of points under 189 visa stream ? b). Which ANZSCO code is most relevant to my experience. I think it's EXTERNAL AUDITOR. Does it mean that my 6 months experience as tax associate will not be counted for point purposes if i select EXTERNAL AUDITOR as occupation ? c). What if I select Accountant(GENERAL) being relevant ANZSCO code. Will my both experiences be counted then ? d). Does occupation selected effects the propoect of visa by any means ? e). As of now, i have two carrer options in short term (in country where i am residing), either to work as tax consultant once again or work as ERP consultant (ERP/ SAP/ ORACLE Implementation). Once again will these both be counted as relevant if i opt ACCOUNTANT (GENERAL) as occupation ? Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  19. What can i do in this case, as i am not fully qualified yet so I can't apply for assessment as of now. Will have to wait for qualification to meet the criteria. In case Accountants are removed from SOL list, the only way into AUS would be study visa.isn't it. But that toute is quite costly. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  20. No i haven't claim points formally but other senior colleagues in the field has obtained PR on the same outline so i presume that same will be the case with me. If you can provide me with any official points calculator link or guidance, that would be great. Thanks Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  21. Hello guys, i have recently joined this forum. I have plans to move to Australia after completing CA (PAK). Currently i am at final stage of aforementioned degree and will be able to complete it soon Insha Allah. Once i complete degree, i will be able to apply for PR as i will be meeting the required skill points. My concern, however, is will it be able for me to find a job in Austrlia with CA(PAK) or will i need to do obtain any Australian degree in accounting as well ? comments from Indian or Pakistani CA will be most welcome. Thanks Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk
  22. In case i consider permanent skills based visa, what is procedure and where can i get relevant information from ?
  23. Thanks for guidance. I was checking out immigration website the other day, i came across EOI (Expression of interest). What i gathered was that you submit your skillset on immigration website and if you are selected, you will be contacted. and more importantly it is free of charge. Is it so ? I am asking this with reference to one of my friends who has got 12 13 years industry (post qualification) experience in the same field. Can he submit his skill set there without any harm or charges ?
  24. So what you are suggesting is that i should apply for skilled based visa after completing required points , and once i have secured it, i should apply for job, as i will be on my own and no one will have to sponsor me. Is it ? I am currently affiliated with PwC but unfortunately PwC Pakistan is not offering Global mobility like other offices.
  25. I am currently affiliated with PwC (Big 4), having around 3.5 years experience. so i think that's not an issue.
