  1. Sydneysiders' laid back lifestyle is famous worldwide, and I keep exploring what is it after moved here. And I eventually understand it from the Crowd at the Bondi beach about 2 weeks ago. For sure, this lifestyle does contribute a lot to mental health.

Well some of my information in a previous post has emerged as being from an unqualified source, namely one of the passengers on board.  However the fact remains that when the Ruby Princess docked in Sydney, carrying 3796 passengers and crew, there was already COVID-19 on board even though the ships doctor could not detect any cases.

The scneario now is that, had NSW Health given the advice for passengers and crew to remain on board and not to disembark, it is likely, on the basis that COVID-19 is known to spread more easily aboard passenger ships than in the general community, would we now be seeing efforts to provide health support to potentially thousands of passengers and crew stuck on board a ship in Sydney Harbour?

I don't believe it was a stuff up. The call had to be made either way.

Now, what to do with the people aboard other ships just off the coast of NSW.

At least, these passengers should be quarantined rather than went to anywhere freely which lead to more infections,.Till 4th Apr. 10% of the cases in Australia links to Ruby princess. Numbers could tell.

  4. PR is Permanent... :) The only thing is that if you leave the country after 4 years and want to come back, you will need a Resident Return Visa. Isn't that what the grant says?

Hi Sapphilor, thanks! yes you are right, here is the wording in the grant letter:

You have been granted a permanent visa which allows you to remain in Australia indefinitely.

This visa allows you to travel to and enter Australia as many times as you want until 16

November 2020. If you wish to travel to Australia after this expiry date, you will need to

apply for, and be granted a Resident Return Visa (RRV).
