  1. Hi Alan

we have just paid the 2nd VAC and have booked our flights to NZ departing on Tuesday night, so I'm propped up against the waiting room door waiting to go.........

it's such a relief, we can now get on with our lives, bought a new car and now house hunting. House prices are rising so rapidly here we have decided to take a hit on the exchange rate and buy something now. Shipping container leaves UK on 5th Dec so no pressure to find anything! Feeling so much better now we are about to exit the waiting room.

    Julie

Fantastic news Julie! So pleased it has all come together for you-such great news x

  2. Hi Julie and Tien, I really hope the next few steps go smoothly for you both. Sadge, I'm also hoping things go well with all your medical information too-fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for everyone's good wishes-I fly home to help my parents get on with selling the house tomorrow. I'm packing my thermals as I've heard it's a bit chilly!!

  3. Well, move on up everyone......My parents have got their visa confirmation today!!!!

Thanks so much for all the support that everyone has for each other on this forum - its been a valuable source of information, and glad to have been able to share it with your all.

Good luck to everyone, and especially the other 23rd Juners - Tien and Julie. I hope you are both celebrating soon too.

    :arghh:WOW!

  4. Hi Moomin

so pleased for you and your parents. We are having huge problems with Centrelink, it has now been a month since our daughter was interviewed and we still don't have a letter to go to the bank. She has phoned them 3 times and now they are saying that IMMI must expedite this, I emailed IMMI but not response yet. We fly back to Oz on Saturday and hopefully I can sort things out next week. Does anyone know if Centrelink deal with the AOS's from a central office or is it done by State Office. What's the best way to make a complaint to them?

    Julie

Hi Julie-how frustrating for you! This whole process is so stressful. There is number for the assurance of support department: 132850 but I was on hold for 2 hours when I called them previously!! There is a complaints system for Centrelink and here's the link: https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/contact-us/complaints-and-feedback

i hope that your daughter gets the bank letter soon.

  5. Note that an extended period of absence from Australia over the 5 year period following the granting of the CP visa can lead to issues securing a Resident Return visa in due course.

    Best regards.

Hi Alan, Thanks for that - we are hoping that it will be a case of going back to complete the sale and then return for good!!

  6. Just a quick question - my parents now need to sell their house and have until April 29th to get to Australia. If by some chance the house sale isn't completed - would they be able to come here on a holiday and then go back to the UK to complete the sale? If so, are there any restrictions on how long they can be out of Australia for as permanent residents?

    Thanks

  7. Good morning/afternoon :-)

Here's some good news for a Friday...

There's room for two more in the final waiting room!!! WE'VE BEEN NOTIFIED OF OUR VISA GRANT TODAY!! and we are so happy!! so relieved! Here's to the end of November when we board that plane :-)

Good luck to everyone else, I really wish you well - it's been stressful, long, I've become paranoid at times about what may happen/if I filled something out wrong/if I sent something to the wrong place/if I got the cheque amount wrong/if I deleted an e-mail before seeing it - it's amazing how so much goes through your head haha and I am sure I'm not alone on that!!

I will keep checking here to check how you are all progressing. There are a few who will be right behind me :-)

Farewell for now and all the best and thanks for all the support over the past 2+ years!

    Amanda

Fantastic news Amanda!! You'll be so excited to get here now and the weather is really picking up! We hope to be hot on your heels but still no correspondence from Immi. I called the service centre and the lady I spoke to confirmed receipt of our documents, so more waiting! This sure is a test of patience!!

    Enjoy x:rolleyes:

  8. I received my confirmation letter of the AOS from Centrelink via my myGov account today. My parents have sent it on to Immi, and now we wait for contact!! They have everything they need (I hope!!) and we wait for some communication as to whether they can go ahead and part with some money or not!!.

    Fingers crossed :chatterbox:

  9. Hi Moomin

great news, glad to hear you are making progress at last. We had to wait a couple of weeks after doing the bank guarantee before being asked for the second vac - and then they issue the visa!!! You're nearly there:-)

Thanks for letting me know that!! I was wondering what happens now!!? Hopefully we'll have happy news soon :)

  10. Well, we received the Centrelink letter in the post advising of organising the bank guarantee. I went into the Commonwealth Bank today and got the guarantee completed - there is also a $150 set up fee by the bank as well. The letter then said I needed to take documentation from the bank back to Centrelink, so I did that today too. I guess we just sit and wait again for further correspondence from Centrelink now!

Surely the visa grant can't be far away now?!!

  11. Hi guys,

Can everyone please tell me at which stage the applicant will be informed to submit AOS?

No response from the Parents Visa Centre at all one year

    CPV 143 lodged 23/09/2015, 24/09/2015 Acknowleged

    Hi Ryan,

Yes it can be a frustrating wait with no communication. The AOS is currently being asked for when the PVC contact you for your Form 80, Medicals and Police check. They are currently processing visas submitted up to 25/06/2014. You can check the Visa progress by submitting an email to : parents@border.gov.au with the subject as TEST

This gives you current processing times. Once your date gets close then you'll hear more. I hope that helps?

  12. did they call before and do a phone interview moomin?

I'm assume that the phone call was the interview. She went through what being an assurer entails and then gave me the instructions regarding the bank deposit and what paperwork I need to send back etc. As far as I understand, that was it as she said she would process everything after the call. I was also surprised to hear from them on a Saturday! So now we need to wait for the letter to come regarding the bank details.

  13. Hi Moomin

Did Centrelink advise you of the 21 day processing time?

The Centrelink we visited hadn't a clue what they were doing, didn't know what an AOS was for. all they said was that they would upload the documents the same day. We had to tell them to witness our daughters signature. It was one of those experiences that made you have no faith at all in the process. Do you know if they correspond to the Assurer by snail mail or email via the Assurers Centrelink Account? Sorry for all the questions.......

    Julie

Hi Julie, the guy at Centrelink checked on his internal website and advised of the 21 day processing for the AOS team. He seemed to suggest that we would hear something in the post, but I wasn't too reassured by this, as he didn't seem to know too much about the process either, and I had to guide him through the paperwork! I'm keeping an eye on myGov - the Centrelink account, but not heard anything as yet. Will keep you posted :)

  14. Hi All June 14 applicants

For those who have submitted their AOS, has anyone had any contact at all from Centrelink? Amanda JB I'm frightened to ask how it's going? We are off to NZ on Saturday as our visa expires, thinking of staying out there a month, but now starting to think that this AOS and final visa decision could be a long way off yet!

    Julie:mad::mad:

Hi Julie - I've not heard anything back yet. I was told that AOS team have a 21 day processing time at present, so I guess we have another week to wait. I was hoping to have heard this week as I'm going away next week, and would like to have got the money into the account. More waiting it seems! :daydreaming:

  15. One last post from us as our journey from 26 months in the waiting room, to moving to Perth in June, will have been completed when our container contents (which cleared customs Thursday) is delivered on Monday 3rd October. Thanks to everyone who helped us with our questions, those who kept our spirits up as the days dragged on as we sat around waiting for the final decision, and good luck to all those still waiting now.

I have tried to pop in now and again, but as live in Oz, gains momentum, I am in here less and less. Thanks all!

So glad it is all going well for you Alan. Thanks for all your information and help on the forum and wishing you both all the best :cute:
