  1. Unfortunately she needs to complete this course so she can pass her skills assessment. So the only option really is to do this course on a tourist or visitor visa. Bit of a Catch-22.
  2. Why would you say that? According to the border.gov.au: Your eVisitor lets you: enter Australia for up to three months during each visit during the 12 months from the date the eVisitor is granted have a holiday or visit family and friends in Australia study in Australia for up to three months in some circumstances
  3. Hi all, My partner from Norway has been in Australia for the past 6 months on a Student Visa studying a Cert III in Fitness. Her course ends on the 4th of April and her visa expires on the 15th of May. She has previously been in Australia on a WHV in 2014 but returned back to Norway for 4 months before taking up her student visa in Australia. Before she returns to Norway aain, she wants to study a 9 week Nursing Bridging course in Australia to be able to be registered as a nurse in Australia, but this starts on the 11th of April and a month before her student visa expires. So to do the full course, she will need to apply for a Visitor visa. My concerns are: 1) Can she apply for a Visitor visa while on her student visa and before her course is finished? If so, would the visitor visa conditions apply as soon as the course ends (note that the course ends a month before the student visa ends); 2) Could immigration think this is an attempt to return to Australia and apply for a Partner Visa and deny the Visitor visa? This is definitely not our intention as she intends to return to Norway, work for 4 months and then apply for a Skilled Migrants visa as a Nurse. If we supply with the visitor visa application a confirmation of Bridging course enrollment, a one way flight from Australia to Norway, and a confirmation of employment in Norway, would this avoid any suspicion? Any help or experience would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Hello all, My partner, a Swedish nurse, submitted an application to ANMAC 3 months ago, and just yesterday received a letter saying ANMAC is putting a hold on her assessment (full assessment) for 2 YEARS as they aim to align themselves with AHPRA. In the note, it says that if AHPRA is likely to refuse registration, then ANMAC should also do that too. This isn't too much of an issue for those of you who directly qualify for AHPRA registration, however for those of you expecting to get your ANMAC accreditation and then do a bridging course (eg. Diploma Nurses), things are now different. Now my partner cannot register for AHPRA until she completes the bridging course, and now she cannot apply for ANMAC until she registers for AHPRA. I guess we will try do a Partner Visa now...
  5. Yes I accept it is a possibility. Visa application outcomes seem to be one of those things that are never 100% risk adverse. However, would you consider it a realistic outcome? I can't see how DIBP would view her application as a risk, as she is from a low risk country, has sufficient funds, hasn't had any previous visa rejections or issues, etc.
  6. I can guarantee that the Cert 3 course is eligible for a student visa
  7. Hello all, My partner who has been here for the last year on a WHV wants to stay here and study a Certificate 3 in Fitness course which runs for 6 months. We would like to keep open the possibility of applying for a Partner Visa later on, however we are worried she could end up with a "No Further Stay" clause on her student visa. She is from Sweden (AL1), and I understand that generally AL3 and AL4 countries end up with "No Further Stay" on their student visas if the course is under 10 months duration. She also has a significant enough amount of money in the bank to satisfy any financial requirements. Is there a possibility that my partner could also end up with No Further Stay, given that she has already been here for a year and is applying for a 6 month course?
