  1. Thank you Iron Lady.. Now to complicate matters further I should explain the whole story as I now see another issue. I am 19yo Aussie that is currently working on a Gap Year in the Uk.. I am on a working holiday visa... I will return to Aus next year but had hoped to get my licence in the UK to enable me to drive back in Aus. (I am wanting to do it this way as my family live in Singapore and I do not have the ability to get the 100hours up as you need to do this prior to sitting a test). There are really 2 issues here... Am I able to Get my Licence in the UK on a WHV ? And then the other one as above - If I get it and only have been driving for 5 months in the UK prior to returning are there any restrictions on driving on that licence?? I had hoped to spare you the details, but now see I might have trouble getting a licence on a WHV ??? Many thanks to anyone that might be able to throw some light .. I cant find this info on line
  2. Thanks Pommy Paul Ill look into it. I have been told I must have held my UK licence and driven in the UK for a min of 5 months before it is recognised in Aus. If this is the case I might be cutting it short as I leave the UK in December but arrive in Aus in February. I do know that To drive, or learn to drive, in Aus I must do 100+ hours with a non P-plater before I can sit the test. This is not possible as I dont have family there to drive with.
  3. Can anyone throw any light on this: I will be going for my drivers licence in the UK in the next month/s but will be moving to Melbourne, Aus, in February.. Is there a minimum time I must have my UK licence before I am able to drive in Aus? Is there a test I must do or can I get an international licence on a New UK one? I will have had my licence for 4-5 months max. I am 19years old. Hope someone there can help as I cant find this anywhere..
