    2. Three to four months seems to be the norm at the moment for applications that do not meet the residence requirement

    Thanks Paul

I applied for my RRV from onshore in June and till date no response or update. I called homeaffairs to check on progress, they said there are some delays. The global processing time for RRV 155 is 95days as published, however, could get delayed if one does not meet the residency requirements which is my case unfortunately.

  2. Hi I have recently applied for RRV from onshore and awaiting reply. I called the home affairs and they said I need to follow online processing times. Can anyone throw sometime light (1) applying for RRV from Onshore - will I stand a better chance to get a longer RRV period rather than 3m or 1yr. (2) has anyone applied RRV in recently and within how much time have the authorities revert back. The status in Immi acct shows "Received" only.

    Yes you can apply

    No it won’t.

Hi thanks completed my 2nd RRV appln. My flight got cancelled couple of times now -attached those cancellation as well

My current RRV is valid until 28Oct2021, if I apply now, will the authorities consider to grant RRV from 28oct2021 and onwards or from the new date of grant which could be in next few weeks/months.

  4. Hi appreciate if anyone can guide me. I had a PR, the travel facility was expired in Nov2020. I was able to obtain a RRV suucessfully in Nov2020. Although, my preliminary books are done for 1st week of Aug; looking at the airport / flights situation, I am afraid i might be on a rocking boat near to expiry of my existing RRV.

My Q - can I reapply for a RRV now immediately to be on a safer side. Generally it takes 3m for a response. However, if I reapply for a RRV and then travel into Australia before a decision is made - will it cause a trouble for me and family upon landing.

    Appreciate any advise

    Thanks

    E

    Hi,

I applied for a RRV this year, I didn’t meet the residence requirement (thought I did) so I ticked the box saying I did by mistake (I was under a couple of months). So I didn’t write anything about any ties (but didn’t have any anyway).

    I received a 1 year RRv.

You could email them at the RRV dept as sometimes people get answers by emailing-let them know it’s expiring soon so you need to know.. you may at least get 3 months which is better than this month.

These types of application are generally taking around 3 months to finalise at the moment.

  6. Thanks

Currently I have funded a 3rd of capital on my friends restaurant business that he opened in a Mall in a Melbourne.

Apart from thag I have transferred my siginificant savinga into an Australian bank account that I opened just start of 2020 in anticipation that I will relocate by mid 2020. And unfortunately due to the travel restrictions it is hanging. Moreover, I am bit hesitant to travel during these times with my 3 year old, travelling more than 20hrs

  7. Thanks Marisa

I am currently offshore, and unfortunately do not meet the 2 year requirement. I have explained in a detailed request letter on circumstances based on which I had to move out of Australia before even 2 years. Fingers crossed.

Is there a way that I can contact the authorities and will it impact the decision if I do contact them by telephone or email

  8. Hi appreciate if anyone can provide some clarity on the rules.

The travel facility on my PR expires end of Nov2020. I applied for RRV last week of August and submitted the docs to demonstrating my ties to Australia. The global processing time reflected in my ImmiAccount is 5 to 68 days which was last week and I have not heard back from authorities anything yet.

    Anyone hanging in similat situation

What steps should I initiate to obtain a response

    Welcome your thoughts please

Good idea. Note that Paul, who replied above, is an agent.

I'd agree that you need one.  If you met the 2 year requirement then it would be no bother.  But the fact that you don't, AND you can hardly call a bank account "strong ties", means you're on very shaky ground and need an expert to help you get across the line.

    Thank you for the note

I am aware of Paul - also noted some positive responses on him. Wikl get in touch soon with him

    Hi Expatriate123,

Paul is right, we met the resident requirements so the application was very straightforward.

I think the best option would be to speak to a migration agent.  We used one for our initial migration to Australia and they took all of the confusion and uncertainty away. Definitely worth the additional costs.

    Thanks

    Josh

    Thanks

The issue is I never used an agent during original application. I did it myself.

If the OP got an automated grant straight away, they would have met the 2 years in the previous 5 years residence requirement and would not need to have demonstrated substantial ties. In which case, based on your other posts, their situation is very different to yours. In your situation:

    1. Yes, and you should

    2. Your ties must be "substantial" and "of benefit to Australia"

    3. Speak to a registered migration agent to look at the specifics of your situation

    4. "Up to 12 weeks" if you don't meet the residence requirement

Thanks Paul for the info - I know you have been providing guidance in other posts as well. I will initiate the RRV appln right away.

I do not meet the 2years criteria unfortunately - so only can prove that I have been accumulating certain savings in OZ bank account which I will be spending for our living -not sure if they will view this as beneficial for Australia

I will reach out to you separately

Just one more query - if I apply for RRV, whilst my current travel facility is valid and a decision on RRV is negative before my travel facility expires, I should still be able to get into Australia - right?

  12. Hi good to know you got instant approval. Can you please throw somemore light on your case. My travel facility expirea Nov2020 and not sure if we can fly.

    1. Can I apply for RRV right away before expiry of the existing travel facility

    2. How did u establish ties back in Australia - i do have bank account open and transferred some savings there - not sure if that is valid doc

    3. Any other advise or suggestion of recommedation so that I will apply right away

    4. Turnaround time from Homeaffairs and did u mention any specific reason for applying RRV

    Thanks

If 'planning to fly' means you haven't booked yet, then I'd planned to fly a lot earlier than a couple of weeks before my visa ran out. Based on what is currently happening down in Victoria there's unlikely to be lifting of restrictions any time soon, and seats on planes could possibly become even scarcer. I say 'seats on planes' rather than flights because having a confirmed reservation is no guarantee that you'll get on a plane at the moment. If you are serious about getting here before your visa runs out, then try and get here as soon as you can - and good luck!

Thank you - i have booked and had to cancel twice in April and May due to cancellation of flight and closure of airport. Very much agree to you on seats on the plane.

Emirates advised me that i need to wait until 15 Aug. Me and my family are almost set to fly. So hopefully not wait until Oct.

  14. Hi im jumping into the topic, I have my SC189 visa on which travel facility ends in Nov 2020 and therefore need to get into Aus by the due date. Planning to fly in Oct mid. However, have been following updates that now the Govt is putting restrictions on number of incoming passengers as well as we need to bear the cost of quarantine althought we can request for waiver.

Will be interested to know if anyone has planned flights in next few days / weeks

  15. Hi need some guidance. My travel facility on my PR189 visa expires in Nov2020. Although I am planning to fly down to Australia after sometime late Aug2020 when the virus situation is expected to be under control. However, I just heard some news that some flights will put a hold on all flying to Australia. And also few middle eastern flights have been asked to limit the economy passenger to a very small number and so prices are now sky rocketted.

Any one with travel plans soon, please share / advise, if no flights then hiw do we plan to travel to be within the due date.

  16. Thanks...and as you said i am just waiting for flights to start and off we go... yes 14 days quarantine on arrival, not sure thought where the immigration authorities will put us up for quarantine.... we will be landing in Melbourne

Looking at flights as well. Looking at options of Flying either on Emirates or Qatar or Cathy pacific - Singapore is closed unfortunately

  17. Thanks ..... my PR states cannot enter australia after 28 Nov 2020. At this stage when there are indications that immigration laws will be tougher, not sure how the govt will review the RRV and how lenient they will be to accomodate such a request

I am hoping the air travels gets eased and we will be able to enter before 28 nov 2020....

  18. Hi. I and mt family were granted PR under 189 few years back. We activated the PR and visited Australia twice. We were planning to relocate in Oct 2020 as our visa expires end of Nov 2020. I am not sure when the travel restrictions will be removed due to COVID19. Will the Immigration authorities consider an extension of dealine to enter Australia. Has anyone approached the authorities for extension of the final deadline for entry or anyone aware of the process.

    Thanks

  19. Hi, I have an issue other way round. I have a PR which expires Nov 2020 end. I am not sure when the travel restrictions will be removed. Will the Immigration authorities consider an extension of dealine to enter Australia.

    Thanks

  20. Hi apologizes for jumping in. I have a similar query. I and my wife received our PR visa in 2015 and visited Australia in 2016 and 2018. We are planning to relocate to Australia in Sept/Oct 2020 as our PR final date in dec 2020.

    1. Are we required to apply for RRV before we relocate to Australia in Sept/Ocr 2020?

    2. Or are we required to get into Australia and then apply RRV for any future travel to be made out of Australia

Appreciate if anyone could guide om the RRV

    Thanks

    Hi there..

Many thanks for the informative post above. I am in a similar situation. My daughter, wife, and I, live in Dubai and already have a subclass 190 permanent visa. We now have a newborn baby boy born here in Dubai. I tried to apply for a tourist visa for him so we could take him along for our next visit to Australia, but the Australian consulate here in UAE advised me to apply for a 101 visa. As I understand, it could take upto 1 year for getting the 101 even though its pretty straightforward. What are my options if I need to travel/relocate before the 101 visa is granted? Also the application is asking for "certified copies"; should plain photocopies suffice or I need to get attested copies?

    Thanks in advance

    V

Hi I went thru the same in 2017. It took approx 4.5m from the start to issuance of visa under 101. The process is simple -  you need to organise the documents required before you go to apply. Applying from Dubai makes it all the more streamlined.... you have to apply in VFS i guess at Burjman

  22. Helloo ppl.... over the moon..... got the visa grant for my kid...

So relieved now..... will be planning our trip soon...any suggestion on best months to travel..... my kid is completing 6m next week... so need to plan a lot before we can take him on a long journey....
